So my post today is a little strange, at least the pictures are! I loved the outfit I wore today and wanted to share it with you all but ran into the same problem that I usually have, I couldn't find anyone to take pictures for me! My solution? I took them myself! So here are parts and pieces of my outfit, kind of like a puzzle. Hopefully you can put them together and get the whole picture!
This dress I picked up the other day at the mall. The lemon color caught my eye and I love the contrast beige bottom. I thought it would work well in my winter to spring transition wardrobe. It's a super stand alone piece but looks great layered with other items like a cardi, jacket or, as done here, a faux fur vest. I bought this vest at the beginning of fall and have really gotten my money out of it these last several months! The boots, bag and sunnies all are TJ Maxx finds, all from last winter and will be part of my wardrobe forever!

Rainy Days and Mondays
Hey Everyone!
Sunnies and Wellies in the same post? Usually one or the other is needed on a given day and seldom are they worn at the same time, so let me explain why I'm wearing both here. When I was getting ready for the day and leaving the house this morning it was raining and it looked like it was going be rainy all day, hence the Wellies. When I finally found someone (my daughter) to snap these photos it was six hours later and the sun was shinning, hence the sunnies! Plus the sunnies are a great camouflage for some serious red and puffy allergy eyes I'm sporting! I may have put them on even if it was still raining! Haha!
This is an easy, comfortable outfit for a rainy Monday. The pairing of turquoise and red brightens up a dreary day! The Wellies are one of my favorite things, given to me by one of my best friends for my birthday. I look forward to rainy days just so I can wear them! A great bracelet stack is a must for me just about every day. I seriously could never own too many bracelets. I love thinking up different combinations to complement my outfits. I've never worn these three large bracelets together before, I was afraid it would be a bit overwhelming on my wrist, but I really like the combo and got several compliments through out the day.
Thanks for reading!! Have a happy week!

Accessory Overload?
I wore a very simple outfit today - ivory top, red skinny pants and nude heels - so I piled on lots of accessories to spice it up and make it more exciting. I really love accessories and believe the right ones can make an outfit. Accessories don't have to cost a fortune. You can actually find super cute ones on the cheap (that don't look cheap!) I love to mix my higher priced items with my budget friendly ones, it makes them more interesting! As far as accessory overload? I believe in balance. A big statement necklace with smaller earrings or a pile of bracelets with a smaller ring. Today I did both the statement necklace and the bracelet stack and I really liked it!

Weekend Treasures
This past weekend was the best weekend I've had in a long time! Full of treasures! My life long best friend, Diane, came to visit. She and I met when we were nine and have been best friends ever since. We don't get to be together very often, we live about twelve hours apart and are extremely busy with work and our families and it's just so hard to get away. The last time we were together was 8 1/2 years ago! Way too long! We had a great time of catching up, talking, laughing, eating, talking some more, movie watching, manicures, and shopping! Here are some of the treasures I found on our shopping day. I'm seeing a theme here...grey and pink! I didn't even notice until I laid everything out to snap some pictures. Some of the items I bought were on my "need" list (the sunglasses are replacements for the ones that broke last week) and some of the items were just things that caught my eye and will work well with my current wardrobe. Many of the pieces will carry over into spring. The shoes I am in absolute love with! I can not wait until warmer weather to rock those babies (a pedicure is a must first)! Platform wedges are my favorite type of shoes and the brightly colored stripe heel will literally go with just about everything I own for spring & summer (especially all those colored jeans I am developing quite a collection of)! I almost walked out of the store without getting them but Diane told me I'd regret it - and she was right! I'm so glad I brought them home!
I hope you all an equally wonderful, savvy and stylish weekend! Thanks for reading!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things ~ Monday Edition
I had no time (or person) to snap pictures of my complete outfit today but I did want to share a few of my favorite things from today's outfit and from the day in general.
I know, I know - another faux fur vest - how many does a girl need, right? In my case, several! (And I'm still on the hunt for the perfect white one.) I'm happy that the weather here is finally cold enough to wear them! This vest is great because the back of it is sweater so it's not bulky and can be worn as a layering piece under a coat.
These booties are probably some of the fiercest shoes I own and believe it or not, they are comfortable! I got them at the end of last winter when Victoria's Secret has their big boot clearance. Love them!
I guess I have a little Coco in me because I'm really into stacking and layering jewelry these days. My outfit today was a neutral color pallet of cream and brown so I felt like piling on the jewelry was the way to go to make it more interesting (and the fur vest helped too!). I stayed with simple earrings so they wouldn't compete with all the necklaces.
And then... there's the cookies! One of my good friends loves to bake and made these a-maz-ing oatmeal/dark chocolate chip cookies for my family for Valentine's. I say they are a health food since both oatmeal and dark chocolate are good for you! Agree?
Thanks for reading! Have a savvy and stylish week! (and a very happy Valentine's Day!)

Colored Denim and Faux Fur ~ becoming an obsession!
My girls and I were heading out to another bridal show (If you haven't heard yet, I'm a MOTB!). This bridal show was local, in our own beautiful little town, and was a "boutique" style show. Much more elegant and intimate than the last one we attended. We were able to get a ton of great ideas for everything from venues to florists! Let the planning begin!
Now for my outfit: I am really into colored denim and colored bottoms in general. I'm glad this trend is not going anywhere for a while because I have fully embraced it, my closet can testify! I'm looking forward to adding to my "collection" with some sorbet colored bottoms for spring. These red jeans have gotten a lot of wear since I got them a few months back - I even managed to disguise them for work (no denim allowed) a time or two! My sweater is just a basic crew neck sweater but the animal print makes it fun & interesting. As I've said before, and if you know me at all you know, I adore anything animal print! It immediately catches my eye. I only wear "real" animal prints, not the hot pink, bright blue, or purple versions. A black faux fur vest has been on my want list for a few seasons now so when I found this treasure while out shopping with a client I immediately put it on hold (it was the last one) and went back to get it when I was finished with my client. I love the different textures and it's the perfect length for me. Longer fur vests just don't work on my small frame. Usually when I wear this vest I pull my hair up so I don't look like one big black hairy blob but I was having a good hair day so I left it down! Sparkly ballet flats and my use-it-everyday-couldn't-ask-for-a-better-bag bag complete my look.

Just Another Manic Monday
As I was heading into another manic Monday I was looking for an easy, comfortable outfit, one I could spend long hours in but still looked put together. I like my outfits to look like I've put some thought into them without looking like that's all I think about! This black sweater is one of my go-to's. It's soft (cashmere) enough to be cozy but fitted enough to look pulled together. It looks as good with jeans as it does with a skirt. The skirt I'm wearing is made of a thick jersey fabric so it's stretchy and it has Lycra in it to hold its shape. When I bought it it was much longer and I had it hemmed to the knee. Skirts that hit right at the knee or slightly above the knee are universally flattering because they show off the prettiest part of the leg. Longer skirts are harder to pull off and may come across as "dumpy". For some reason in the pictures this skirt looks blue but it's actually turquoise. I've noticed that I have been gravitating to colored bottoms lately in jeans, pants and skirts. My poor kaki and black bottoms have been getting a lot of closet time! I love a red, black, turquoise combo so instead of just putting on gold or silver jewelry with my outfit I went with a red necklace that has touches of gold and black in it. I found this necklace in a vintage shop and I wear it a ton! I love these boots so much I bought two pair so when one wears out I've got a back up. I don't see them going out of style any time soon if ever. I think the patent leather makes them look really dressy for a flat boot. They are perfect for a busy day on the go.
