Happy Tuesday! I had jury duty yesterday (all.day.long) so I never got to snap outfit pics (if you don't count the selfie I took in the courthouse elevator!) or blog. Here's one for Monday and Tuesday with pictures from Sunday!
We were running out the door to head to my in-laws to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday when I got my daughter to take these outfit pics. I figured with the crazy week I had coming up I needed to take pictures when I could just in case ~ and these came in handy. The outfit? Nothing new ~ my comfiest jeans (seen many times before), my favorite wear-with-absolutely-everything shoes, 3/4 sleeve sweater (don't you love the cable cowl neck?), and of course, a touch of leopard. I think there's room in just about every outfit for leopard!
Hope you all have a savvy and stylish, warm and dry day!!

Charming Charlie ~ Who Knew?
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you already know about this jacket. If you don't (why don't you? ;-) here's the story...
The other night I ran into Charming Charlie to grab a birthday gift for my daughter's friend. I thought, "teenagers = Charming Charlie", right? As I wandered around the store trying to decide what to get the friend I spotted this jacket. This jacket at Charming Charlie? Who knew they carry such great grown-up stuff? It was love at first sight since I'd been looking for a white Chanel inspired jacket for a while. The price was great and the possibilities were endless so I bought it, along with a beautiful little jewelry box and earrings for the friend. I really had been thinking all along that Charming Charlie was just for teens/twenties. I guess you learn something new every day!
Have a savvy and stylish one, lovelies!

Ruby Slippers
Meet the newest addition to my shoe collection ~ my ruby slippers. Well, they aren't exactly Dorothy slippers ~ they are more like GaGa platforms ~ but they are ruby red and by the end of the day I was saying "there's no place like home" so I could take them off! It's better to look good than to feel good, right? (Remember Billy Crystal's Fernando from Saturday Night Live?) I bought these fun little shoes at Charlotte Russe right before Valentine's ~ they were only $10 (yep ~ super clearance!) and the only pair left was in my size so I'm pretty sure it was meant to be!
What about you? Do you ever sacrifice comfort for the sake of fashion?

Pink and Patterned Pants
Happy Monday!! I have the day off of the day job so it's extra happy for me! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Yesterday was a day of "nothing" for me, the first day of "nothing" in a very long time, and it was wonderful (and much needed)!
When I was looking at the pictures for today's post I realized two things ~ I have been wearing a lot of pink lately and every time I wear these pants I mix them with another pattern. A lot and every time! The pink thing ~ maybe subconsciously February equals pink to me (you know, Valentine's Day and all) and the patterned pant mix thing ~ these pants are just easy to mix because of the large pattern and the black and white colors.
I love a Chanel inspired jacket. To me they are classic, timeless and make any outfit sophisticated. I pair my jackets with everything from skirts to jeans. I also love wearing a brooch with my jackets ~ it feels very Coco. This brooch is probably the most special piece of jewelry on earth to me. It belonged to my grandmother, Grace Kelly. It's from the 1940's and has her initials on it in little diamonds. I never got to meet my grandmother, she died before I was born, but I'm named after her (my middle name is Grace), and wearing this brooch makes me feel close to her in some way. Do you own anything like that? Something that once belonged to someone special to you and you feel like they are with you when you wear it, hold it, use it, look at it? I have a few things like that (one is an old red cardigan that belonged to my beloved Grandaddy) and they are so precious to me!
Have a savvy and stylish day!

Valentine's the Day After
Yesterday was one of those days where I was going from before sun up until long after the sun went down. There was no time to get outfit pics and no time to post a blog if I did get pics, so I was determined to do both today. Here it is, 11:15pm, and I'm just now getting to the blogging part ~ the pics part happened this afternoon. This outfit is a version of what I wore yesterday for Valentine's. For yesterday's outfit I wore a red skirt, nude boots and layered bubble necklaces in pink and red. Today I went with my Hudson Tuxedo Skinny's, leopard kitten heels and monogram necklace.
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day full of love and sweet things! Happy weekend!

Oops!...I Wore It Again
Day two of pink-belted-fur-vest outfits. I liked yesterday's belted fur vest outfit so much I decided wear it again, just a different vest and a different pink belt. How many fur vests and pink belts does a girl need to have you ask? It just depends on the girl and this one owns several and loves them all!
I bought this vest after Christmas on clearance from Forever 21. I had been wanting a long white faux fur vest since Rachel Zoe started wearing (and then designing) them a few years ago and this one is exactly what I had in mind! The pants are old favorites from Old Navy, the leopard sweater a great basic (yes, a leopard v-neck sweater can be a basic) and the shoes? A basic with a twist in the form of a platform and a pink sole! Love them! They have been in heavy rotation this season!
So, are you ready for Valentine's Day? Do you have an outfit all picked out or are you going to wing it in the morning? I have my outfit all set with a backup just incase I change my mind! Do you ever do that?

Fashioney
Some days I just feel fashioney ~ you know, when you have the urge to wear several trends together to see if you can pull it off. I like the way this outfit turned out. The only thing I'd change is the length of the maxi ~ I wish it was longer so I could wear a higher heeled shoe because I feel like I can look a little short in maxi's. All the pieces of this outfit have been in my closet for a while except for the belt which I bought recently on a trip to New York and Company. What girl doesn't need a pink glittery belt?!?
Are you getting ready for Valentine's Day? What will you be wearing? I just may be sporting this pink glittery belt again!

Rainy Days and Monday's
Rainy days and Monday's ~ the Carpenters had it right ~ they can get you down. And when that rainy day is on a Monday? I know I've gotta try hard to fight the urge to stay home under the covers! Many of us don't have the luxury to stay home on rainy days (or Monday's) ~ life, work and responsibilities force us out and about. So when that's the case, dressing cozy and cute is one way to combat the "rainy day Monday blues".
A pair of Wellies should be in every girl's closet for days like this. There is nothing fun (or savvy and stylish) about getting your feet soaked walking through the rain (or ruining your shoes!)! You can get a great pair of Wellies at stores like Target and T.J.Maxx or online at places like LLBean and Piperlime. My Hunter Wellies came from Piperlime last winter and they are one of the best purchases I've ever made. I have certainly gotten my money's worth of wear out if them! They are super durable and will last me for years to come.
My cape/sweater came from New York and Company on clearance after Christmas. I seriously think I paid $10 for it. It's one if those pieces that looks not-so-appealing on the hanger but on a person it's perfect! If they had had it in other colors I would have snatched them up too and would have quickly become known as the woman who only wears cape/sweaters. So maybe it's a good thing they were out of the other colors! :-)
A good umbrella is important on days like this too. I own a cute zebra one but of course someone "borrowed" it and I couldn't find it in time for these pics ~ hence the big yellow and black golf umbrella on loan from my husband!
If it's raining or snowing or beautiful and sunny where you are I hope your Monday is savvy and stylish!!

Tunic Sweater and Leggings
Sometimes a day calls for an outfit that isvsuper comfy but stylish as well. On days like that I pull out an oversize tunic sweater and leggings. These faux leather leggings are literally some of the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. I love them so much I bought two pairs so I have a backup just incase I wear one pair out!
Don't you just love this Chanel inspired bag? I saw it at TJMaxx and fell head over heels for it! It's a fun way to jazz up an all black outfit. My ring is a vintage onyx and diamond ring that belonged to my grandmother. It was given to me by my mom for my 16th birthday and is one of my most prized possessions.
Hope your day is savvy and stylish!!
