Impromptu Date Night and Go-To's

I hope everyone had a great Fourth!  We packed our day full of family fun ~ lake day, cookout, baseball game and the best fireworks I've ever seen (courtesy of the Gwinnett Braves)!  If you didn't get a chance to see what I wore to celebrate our country's independence you can see it here.  I love the Fourth of July!

Saturday The Hubs surprised me late in the day with an impromptu date night/overnight get-away!  I'd been doing chores around the house all day from my very long list of "things that need to be done this summer" and was in my Type A "I'm not going to stop until it's all done" mode so he knew he had to step in.  Ha!  It was literally 5:00 in the evening when he told me the plan so I quickly got a shower and tossed on my go-to look of "fancy top, worn-in jeans, fab shoes" (you can see another version of my go-to look here), packed an overnight bag and headed out the door.  It was fun and one of the perks of having older kids ~ no sitters required!

As I mentioned in a recent post I'm a bargain/budget shopper and one of my favorite go-to places to shop is Plato's Closet.  This top is a find from one of my most recent trips to Plato's.  It's by "buttons",  has incredible beading and cost all of $6.00!  I'm loving the coral/orange color paired with the faded denim and the leopard shoes. (Similar tank option here.)  The jeans and shoes are also budget friendly finds.  The jeans are Joe's Jeans and I got them at T.J.Maxx for a fraction of the retail price.  The shoes are from Bloggers Closet, which is an online shop where some of your favorite bloggers sell their gently used (or not even used) clothes, shoes and accessories.  I'm currently signed up to start selling on Bloggers Closet too and as soon as I find the time to get my items up for sale I will let you all know!  Identical denim and shoes here and here

My cuff and bag are both Tory Burch and are both from last season.  You can find the current version of the cuff here and a super fun cork version of the bag here.  And I just had to share this fun camo tote with you all!!  I just added it to my "must have" wish list and my Shop Mz Savvy Style page!

Do you have a go-to outfit style?  What are your favorite places to find a great deal?

My go-to style is jeans, fancy top usually and a blazer. Love your scallop top, I've one just like it. Gorgeous colour and goes well with jeans.

Can't believe that was just $6! What a score!

Hi, Elizabeth! How fun to just up and go with your hubby! I've recently become an empty-nester and am looking forward to more "impromptu" fun, like this! Very cute and comfortable looking outfit! My "go-to" outfits usually include some kind of "stretchy" pants or jeans, I love layering...so I may wear a oversized sweater, dressy/colorful top, and either a tank or spaghetti strap cami. I also love to accessorize with scarves, hats, necklaces, and bracelets. I love TJ Maxx, too! Not been to many Plato's Closet stores, but do like them, as well. I am also a Kohls, Target, and Meijer shopper! Thanks for sharing!
