First Day of (My) Summer

Hope everyone has had a great week! Sorry I've been AWOL - still. I really thought things would slow down after my son's graduation but - nope! I spent this week wrapping things up for the summer at the day job. One of the things I enjoy about working at a school is having the summer (at least eight weeks of it) off. I'm hoping to spend some of my time off getting the things done I don't have time to do during the school year, wedding planning (my oldest daughter is getting married in January and yes, I was a baby when I had her! ;), reading, relaxing, spending time with family and friends and being more consistent with my blogs! Hopefully you will be hearing from (and seeing) a little more of me over the next few weeks (if I can manage to get out of my p.j.'s and into something cute!).

This was my official first day of summer break. I stayed in my p.j.'s until 11:00AM when my oldest and I remembered we had a dress fitting appointment for her wedding gown at 12:00PM! Yikes! Hence the hat. No time to fix the hair so a braid and a hat to the rescue! I took a few minutes to snap some quick pics since I vowed once my summer began I'd blog more. We made it to the appointment on time and her wedding dress fits perfectly! She's going to be the most beautiful bride!

Hope you all have a wonderful, restful, family filled, savvy and stylish long weekend!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

This week has been long, exhausting, emotional, exciting and bittersweet. It started off at my son's state baseball tournament, on to senior recognition at church, sports awards night, my daughter ran for, and was elected as, president of the student council for this coming school year, I traveled to Chattanooga to be with my sister and her baby who was having some tests done (everything came out great!), back to Athens for my daughter's honors awards night and son's senior roast, off to Tifton for the final round of my son's baseball tournament, and ended with my son's baccalaureate service (of which I was the chairperson). I know some other stuff was mixed in but those were the biggies! :)

I did manage to snap a few outfit pics along the way (I tried to work around the tears!). I wore this outfit to the second round of the state baseball tournament, which ended up being the last baseball games of my son's high school career. Very sad. I picked up the shirt on a recent run through the mall. Really, I was running through to pick something up at another store and spotted this shirt as I raced through JC Penny. I love the contrast colors, the high-low hem and the lightweight material - and the price - under $15! I've had these jeans for a while now. Honestly, after being so into the colored jean trend of late wearing plain old jeans feels a little boring! These jeans are some of my faves, not necessarily the wash (I prefer my jeans a little darker with no fading) but the fit. They are my "jeans that fit just right" (you know that country song?). I'm an in-heels-most-of-the-time kind of girl but flats are a must when your at the ball field.

Well, I'm off to another busy week! I hope you all have a savvy and stylish one!!

The New Pink and Green

Growing up in the 80's, pink and green was synonymous with preppy. If you wore the pink and green combo on a regular basis it meant you were in the "in crowd", had a handle on popular fashion and were probably a cheerleader. I won't say if I did (or could afford) to wear the preppy pink and green "back in the day" but I do think it's the reason I still love this color combo today!

I wouldn't say this outfit post is preppy so I guess it's the new way to do pink and green. When I'm wearing such bold colors together I like to keep my accessories, like my bag and shoes, neutral but I love to throw in a little dash of leopard! The turquoise jewelry is just so fun! (Sorry about the nails - I was in between manicures!)

I'm heading into a crazy-busy week! My son is getting ready to graduate, we've got family coming to town and this is one of the busiest times of the year at the day job (and that's just for starters!). I'm really looking forward to things slowing down a bit in a few weeks!

Hope you all have a savvy and stylish week!!
