Christmas to New Year's

I recently wore this outfit to my company Christmas party.  The event was held in a large art studio here in Athens and it was quite cold so we were encouraged to dress warmly.  Of course being the "dress for the occasion girl" that I am and it being a Christmas party sparkle and shine were a must for me!  I found this sequin bomber jacket on super sale and HAD to have it!  It was a great way to stay warm at the party but also fit the "it's the holiday's so dress up" bill too.  I'm planning on wearing it again over New Year's when The Hubs and I take our annual New Year's getaway trip.  The jacket goes really well with leather pants, like I'm wearing here, but will be equally cute over a LBD or with jeans.  Isn't it great when you love something, it's on sale, you buy it, and you realize it can be worn for several occasions?  I know I sure do!

Crossbody Bag: H&M (sold out) | Identical
Leopard Pumps: Nine West (last year) | Similar
Lippie: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo (This color looks great on everyone!)

Me and my gorgeous "side kick", model and assistant, Maggie, at our company Christmas party at Stan Mullins Art Studio. Yes, she's about eight inches taller than me (and a whole lot younger!)

Sorry about the quality of these pictures.  I planed to get some better shots at the event but the lighting at the studio was not picture friendly and I had to go with the pictures The Hubs shot of me before I left the house for the evening.   I almost didn't post this outfit but I had SO MANY questions about my jacket after putting this picture of Maggie and I on Instagram I decided to go ahead and blog away! ;-)

Also, I may or may not get another blog post in this week.  I've been working at our flagship store here in Athens all week, which means I'm exhausted in the evenings, my kids are home from college, which means we are doing family stuff in the evenings, and I'm trying to wrap up the little last minute details of Christmas before the busy holiday weekend!  Are you ready?

Still Time For Holiday Shopping!

Y'all, Hanukkah is a week away and Christmas is eight day away!  Are you ready?  I'm about 95% done with my shopping, I'm waiting for a few things I ordered to arrive (I've kept the UPS man BUSY this year!!) and I still have ALL of my wrapping to do but I'm on the home stretch and that feels good!  If you still have gifts to check off of your list I've got some great ideas below, all you have to do is click and order!  Many retailers are still guarenteeing holiday delivery if you place your order in the next day or two (check each website to be certain). Happy Shopping and Happy Christmas Week!!

Swing Dress and Suede Boots

Even as we head full on into the holidays I'm still wearing fall colors on repeat.  This pumpkin color has been one of my favorites again this season (just take a look at my Instagram and you will see what I mean!) and I'm just not ready to trade it in for red and green ~ yet! Speaking of the holiday's... are you ready?  Y'all, I can't believe Christmas is only 11 days away!  I'm about 80% done with my shopping and 0% done with wrapping!  I know it will get done, it always does, but it's hard not to stress until the last gift is bought and under the tree!

Flirty Floral

This little flirty floral dress.  I saw it, fell in love with it, bought it, almost tossed on leggings with it but then decided "why not" and wore it barelegged with my favorite suede over-the-knee boots to a recent lunch meeting.  It was windy (like crazy windy) the day I wore this little number (I didn't know how windy it was until after I left the house) so I had to hold on to it for dear life between the car and restaurant so I didn't show everyone in Buckhead my business!  Maybe I should have rethought those leggings! ha!  If you are going to wear with a short skirt or mini dress make sure to keep the rest of yourself covered (arms, chest, middle) ~ you don't want to show too much skin at once, especially if you are over forty.  And... you may want to check to see how windy it is before you head out the door! ;-)

Feeling Thankful

There is so much to be thankful for ~ not just today ~ but every day.  But sometimes when life gets hectic and busy it's easy to focus on the things that aren't so great and overlook the good, the little blessings, that happen in our everyday.  Thanksgiving gives us the opportunity to slow down a bit, to enjoy family and friends, to relax and reflect on all we have to be thankful for.  I for one am thankful, oh so thankful, for the people God has blessed me with, especially my family!  What are you thankful for?

The Fischer Family {My Family}

The Herrin Family {The Hub's Family}

My people ~ Son - Chad, Me, The Hubs, SoninLove - Colton, Daughter - Madison and Daughter - Megan

Another one of my family, minus a few {The Fischer's}

Me and my boys

Me and my girls

Me and my favorite guy {better known as "The Hubs"}

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving or Gameday Style?

There is so much going on this week I was a little torn about what to do a blog post on ~ a Thanksgiving Day outfit, Gilmore Girls Day outfit or a Gameday outfit.  (Oh, you didn't know Gilmore Girls Day is a thing? Well it sure is around here ~ and us Herrin girls will be celebrating in style!  It sure is good to be a girl!  Blog post on that coming next week!!)  For today's post I decided on the Gameday outfit but if you need some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration check out this post (it's a good one!!).

Saturday The Hubs and I will be heading to the Georgia/Georgia Tech game with two of our favorite people for a day of food (tailgating is a must), family, fun and of course football!  I'm really into the comfy tunic, leggings, sneakers combo and that's most likely what I'll be wearing this Saturday.  I may toss on a puffer vest if it's cold enough (this houndstooth vest would be so cute with the striped tunic I'm wearing!) but this outfit has pretty much become my Gameday standard.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Red & Black Striped Tunic: Entourage (last year) | Similar
Leggings: Target
Sneakers: Old Navy (The pair I'm wearing is sold out but I found an identical pair here.)
Necklace: Stella & Dot (It can be worn different lengths and has become a favorite!)
Bangles: SoLayne Designs c/o (black here and red here)
Beaded Lava Bracelets: SoLayne Designs c/o

I'm looking forward to a full and fun week/weekend ~ Thanksgiving Day with the family, Gilmore Girls Day with my girls and the UGA game with The Hubs.  What are you all up to?  Are you celebrating the holiday with family and friends or having a quiet day at home?  Remember, if you are still stumped about what to wear for Turkey Day here are several looks I know you will love!

Cardi's and Camo

Y'all, it's finally sweater weather in Georgia!  For real!  Like you can wear a sweater in the morning when you leave the house, still have it on when you get home at night and not have suffered heat stroke during the day!  Insert praise hands from this fall weather loving girl!  Better late than never, right?  I bought this cardi well over a month ago and I've been patiently waiting 😏  to wear it ever since.  Is there anything more perfect than a thick, cozy cardi with a hood AND pockets?!?  I don't think so!  I love this one so much I also added this one to my fall/winter wardrobe.

Enough about my cozy cardi love affair and let's address the elephant in the room ~ or the leopard on my feet paired with camo jeans.  I'm not some crazy pattern blind lady, promise!  Both leopard and camo are treated as neutrals in the fashion world which means you can wear both prints with anything you would wear neutrals with.  AND pairing leopard with camo (or with stripes or florals) actually makes a chic fashion statement!  It may not be for everyone but it sure is one of my favorite combos.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Hoodie Cardigan: Entourage Clothing
Henley Tee With Lace Detail: Similar
Camo Jeans: Similar | Loving these leopard joggers too!
Leopard Booties: Amazon | They are super comfy!

Olive Crossbody Bag: Urban Expressions c/o | This bag is the perfect size ~ not too big and not too small
Hoop Earrings: Stella & Dot

Is it finally sweater weather where you are?  How do you feel about pairing camo and leopard?  Yay or nay?
