Snow Day ~ Take Two

As I told you yesterday, in true fashion blogger style I decided to take advantage of the rare Georgia snow fall and use it as a backdrop for a few blog outfits.  To me there is nothing prettier than snow!  Faux fur, wellie boots, a favorite cozy sweater, warm tights, a hat, gloves and pops of pink make up snow-day outfit number two!

Just Another Manic Monday

As I was heading into another manic Monday I was looking for an easy, comfortable outfit, one I could spend long hours in but still looked put together. I like my outfits to look like I've put some thought into them without looking like that's all I think about! This black sweater is one of my go-to's. It's soft (cashmere) enough to be cozy but fitted enough to look pulled together. It looks as good with jeans as it does with a skirt. The skirt I'm wearing is made of a thick jersey fabric so it's stretchy and it has Lycra in it to hold its shape. When I bought it it was much longer and I had it hemmed to the knee. Skirts that hit right at the knee or slightly above the knee are universally flattering because they show off the prettiest part of the leg. Longer skirts are harder to pull off and may come across as "dumpy". For some reason in the pictures this skirt looks blue but it's actually turquoise. I've noticed that I have been gravitating to colored bottoms lately in jeans, pants and skirts. My poor kaki and black bottoms have been getting a lot of closet time! I love a red, black, turquoise combo so instead of just putting on gold or silver jewelry with my outfit I went with a red necklace that has touches of gold and black in it. I found this necklace in a vintage shop and I wear it a ton! I love these boots so much I bought two pair so when one wears out I've got a back up. I don't see them going out of style any time soon if ever. I think the patent leather makes them look really dressy for a flat boot. They are perfect for a busy day on the go.

Out and About

Monday was a busy day. It started with a few hours at the office, then a late lunch with my girls, after that an afternoon of running around town looking at wedding venue options and then wedding dress shopping! I wanted to be comfortable, warm and put together so I decided layering a few of my favorite go-to pieces was the way to go. I'm really into fur vests this season (and am working on quite a collection!) so I tend to toss them on over everything from dresses to sweaters and T's. Riding boots are a classic and great for days on the go. I recommend them as a wardrobe basic to all of my clients. You can wear them with everything from jeans to dresses. My bag is my new love - Michael Kors at his finest! I'm not a change-your-bag-everyday kind if girl, I'd rather get a really great one I'm totally in love with and carry it for the season. This little treasure is my winter bag. I'll be sad to see spring come I love it so much! All in all it was a busy, savvy, stylish and successful day!
