Chevon, Stripes, Sequins and Slits

Happy Monday!

Today is the last Monday of my summer...I head back to work at the day job a week from today.  It's not been much of a summer ~ I spent most of it in the hospital caring for my daughter ~ but I'm thankful for the time I had off so I could take care of her.  And I was able to have a week at the beach, get a few little projects accomplished at home and dedicate time to my blog and personal shopping/wardrobe styling business.  I secured my first corporate client this summer!  In September I'll be doing makeovers/personal shopping sessions for employees and teaching a seminar on how to dress for business casual for a corporate office.  I'm beyond excited!

Now on to today's outfit...
My girls bought this skirt for me about a month ago before we went to the beach in hopes that I'd bring it to the beach and wear it.  Well, I didn't.  I didn't know what I wanted to wear with it so I left it at home hanging in the "I need to style this and wear it" section of my closet.  Then yesterday I was trying to decide what to wear and this skirt kept calling my name...so I tossed it on with my sequin tank (a wardrobe staple in my book), my go-to Steve Madden wedges, and a fun black beaded statement necklace.  I should have pulled out a black or pink bag but I was running late (shocker) so the white one I carry on a daily basis was it!  I love this skirt.  The colors, side slits and pattern made it really fun to wear.  I felt feminine and flowy all day.  And what girl doesn't love to feel feminine and flowy?!

Do you have something in your closet that you haven't worn?  I challenge you to pull it out and give it a try!  You will be happy you did!
