Color Blocking

Color blocking is wearing blocks of color, plain and simple.  It looks best when done with bold, bright colors and with colors that don't necessarily match but go, like pink and red, yellow and red, yellow and green, orange and pink...  You could also go with complimentary colors (colors that are across from each other on a color wheel), like red and blue or turquoise and pink (which is what I did in today's outfit).  Prints and patterns are not used in color blocking, as the designs would take away from the "blocked" look.  And when color blocking with your clothes try to keep your accessories neutral, like nude or gray, and limit the bold, bright colors in your outfit to two or three.  You want to look savvy and stylish, not crazy and kooky.  (BTW, these pictures were taken at the end of a long day so I'm kind of looking like a wrinkled hot mess!)

How do you rock the color blocking trend?

I love that color combination! It's so bright and fun and I always love a peplum shirt.
