Time For a Change

I've had long hair for a long time.  Actually really long hair for a really long time, and the time had come for a change.  I've been toying with the idea of cutting my hair for a few months now, pinning pictures of shorter hairstyles I like and tearing pictures out of magazines for future inspiration.  It seemed as if lately I've been wearing more ponytails and buns than I have been fixing my hair, it's just become a pain (literally, because it also was giving me headaches).  Now I'm not saying I was not thankful to have long hair.  I've had many friends go through chemo and loose theirs so I never take my hair for granted, but it was time for a refresh.  What better time than summer time to try something new with your hair?

The picture that inspired me to cut my hair.  Inspiration girl doesn't have bangs and I do (they are much needed at my age ~ bangs or botox! ha!) but other than that I think it's a pretty good copy!  I wanted it choppy, piecey and modern.  (Picture via Pinterest)

Me and my stylist, Sarah, who is amazing, crazy talented and like a little sister to me.  Oh, and the only person I let cut my hair!!  She's been my stylist forever and agreed with me that the time had come to change it up!!

Are we really going to do this!?!?!

Before

Sarah sectioned off my hair in little ponytails to make it easier to cut.  (Excuse my baggy butt shorts - they are cute from the front!)

The first cut

I look like I'm in pain.  I think I was trying not to panic!

The length is off, now it's time to style it.

Done!

This is the best shot I got and it still isn't that great.

What I'm wearing ~
Graphic T: Old Navy (this one is cute for summer!)
Denim jogger shorts: Forever 21 (these are also a great option)
Necklace: Entourage (old, similar here)
Affirmation bracelets: BCBGeneration (they make great gifts!)

If you are in or anywhere around Athens and you are looking for a great hair stylist you need to call Sarah at Adam and Eve Hair Designers (706-549-9970)!  Next week Adam and Eve is moving into a great new space in the historic Leathers Building, 675 Pulaski Street, Suite 300, Athens, GA 30601.

OK, so what do you think about my decision to cut my hair?  Have you changed up your style lately?  Tell me what you think!
