Transitioning

I really like to transition slowly from one season to the next especially when it comes to my wardrobe. Mixing last season's pieces with this season's makes things more interesting and makes a wardrobe go a little further. Transitioning can be a little difficult here in Georgia because our weather changes so quickly. When I left the house this morning this thick sweater vest was just right but by this afternoon the temps had risen to 80 and I was a little warm! I found this vest Christmas before last at a little shop here in town that has since (sadly) closed. It was in the window all during the holidays. Of course I had my eye on it hoping it wouldn't sell until I had Christmas gift cash on hand. After the New Year it was still there and better yet it was marked down! I happily brought it home and have worn it to death in the past year and a half! It looks handmade, the shop owner said it is, and since there are no tags in it I'll have to take her word for it! The rest of my outfit is my standard "uniform" lately - tunic top, colored skinny pants or jeans and wedges.

The copper and blue stone bracelet among today's stack was made by my amazingly talented artist brother. He's a master metal craftsman and has recently (with a little of my urging) started making jewelry! Yay! He is currently working on an unbelievable statement necklace for me. I can't wait until it's done so I can share it with you all!

Happy Monday! Hope your week is savvy and stylish!

Accessory Overload?

I wore a very simple outfit today - ivory top, red skinny pants and nude heels - so I piled on lots of accessories to spice it up and make it more exciting. I really love accessories and believe the right ones can make an outfit. Accessories don't have to cost a fortune. You can actually find super cute ones on the cheap (that don't look cheap!) I love to mix my higher priced items with my budget friendly ones, it makes them more interesting! As far as accessory overload? I believe in balance. A big statement necklace with smaller earrings or a pile of bracelets with a smaller ring. Today I did both the statement necklace and the bracelet stack and I really liked it!

Thanks for reading! Have a savvy and stylish end to your week!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things...

This week has not been a good one for me in the outfit-photo-taking-blogging department! My "photographer" went back to college...so until I can convince my husband to take my picture before I walk out the door in the mornings or have a photo shoot day with Madie I'm stuck! I didn't want to go the whole week with posting something so I decided to share some of my favorite things that I used or wore during the week.

This necklace is really one of my all time favorite things! I got it for a steal at JC Penny sometime last year. Every time I wear it I get compliments...so I wear it a lot! Haha! It can transform any outfit into something special.

I got all but one of these bracelets for Christmas and have worn them just about every single day since! I saw the Alex & Ani bracelets in a shop window on my morning run (yes, I window shop while I run! :) and when my husband asked what I wanted for Christmas I knew just where to send him! The bracelets were very affordable so he got four (my suggestion) so I could layer them. I've been on the Alex & Ani website since then and they have some really great ones that I think I'll add to my collection! "You can never have too many bracelets", a wise woman once said! ;)

My beautiful Michael Kors wallet...it makes me smile every time I pull it out of my bag (which is also Michael Kors)!
Ditto for my Kate Spade makeup bag! It's actually a wristlet that I use for a makeup bag. Michael and Kate go very well together!

Now for my favorite shoes of the week...both of which have been posted in past blogs. My nude Nine West suede platform pumps are my go-to-wear-with-anything shoes. I love them so much I bought two pair so when one wears out I have a back up! And my leopard Steve Madden skimmers. I throw these on with everything from skirts to jeans. They are very comfortable for on-the-go days and make a statement at the same time!

My last favorite thing is my new little nephew, who was born last month to my beautiful baby sister. I get to FINALLY meet him tomorrow and I can hardly wait!

I hope you all have a wonderful, savvy and stylish weekend!
