It's All About The Bag (and the accessories)

Accessories make all the difference when styling an outfit.  From your earrings to your shoes and everything in between, accessories can make or brake your look.  Carrying a great bag will really pull your look together and when it's a bag like this one from Gregory Sylvia not only will you be stylish but you will be organized!  This fabulous leather bag has three compartments (one with a zipper), and two additional smaller interior pockets.  It boasts a shoulder strap as well as a detachable cross-body strap for easy carrying wherever your day takes you.  My bag is a gorgeous navy blue leather, perfect for fall and winter, with Gregory Sylvia's logo elegantly stitched on both the back and the front of the bag.  And speaking of accessories... This Skirt

How fabulous is this skirt?  From the full skater style to the bold colors and fun pattern it's a stunner!  This skirt makes such a statement I paired it with a neutral, feminine blouse, black shoes and clutch that would let the skirt be the focus of the outfit and not compete for attention.  I kept the jewelry simple too with an arm stack of thin bangles with turquoise detail and stud earrings.

Snake and Leather

Snake and leather ~ what a combo, right?  I love how it's edgy without being over the top.  And I've never in my life put on a pair of pants I like more.  These fit and feel amazing and the vertical pattern makes my legs appear longer and thinner than they actually are (but that's our little secret!).  These pants have been added to my fall wish list...along with the top in Monday's post and the jacket in last Friday's.  Oh Encore, how I love your fall fashions!!

When I went into Encore  last week to style outfits for my current series of blog posts I was instantly drawn to this top.  It's a very on-trend dressy sweatshirt, the Swiss-dot and quilted detail are to die for and it reminds me of something Audrey Hepburn or Taylor Swift would wear.  You could say it's a win, win, win!  Oh, and it's super comfortable.  Another win.  I'll be adding it to my fall wardrobe for sure!!

A Summer Skort

I tend to wear a lot of white the week leading up to Labor Day.  Not because I'm from the old school of "no white after Labor Day" but because it just feels right.  Even though I live in the south and the heat sticks around for a month (or three) after Labor Day is long gone my brain (and wardrobe) transition to fall.  You know, jeans, camo, layers, leather, booties...  I do think this little summer skort and white cage sandals will get packed away with my spring/summer wardrobe but I'll keep this bold blazer/vest and striped T in my fall/winter rotation.

Busy Mom (lady) On The Go

As I've mentioned before, last week I co-hosted a Girls Day Out event for Star 94 and The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.  Our theme was "take time for you, tips for a busy mom (lady) on the go".  My gorgeous friend, Jennifer Duvall of JennySue Makeup, shared makeup tips on how to look your best when you are in a hurry (and how to stay looking your best in the heat!!  On the day of our event it was blazing hot and we were set up outside, but Jennifer stayed looking fresh and shares her melt-proof makeup tips here.)  I styled two outfits for the event, one from Isaac Mizrahi New York (seen in this post) and one from Saks Off 5th.  I knew going in to my styling day the day before the event that I wanted to do one of the looks around joggers (not the people, the pants!).  Joggers are a way of feeling like you are wearing your pajamas but looking chic, on trend and totally pulled together!
