For a second year I was asked to be part of the W Thinks Pink Cure on the Catwalk to benefit the
Pink Heals Foundation and it's an honor for me to be chosen to be part of such a great event! I have several family members and close friends who are cancer survivors or are currently undergoing chemo for this awful disease so to be chosen to give back in this way means a lot!
Blogger/stylists from the
Southern Blog Society were paired up with cancer survivors for styling sessions at
the Shops Around Lenox to help them (and us) get runway ready for the fashion show/charity event the took place at the
W Hotel Buckhead on September 30th. I was paired up with Erika, an amazing, beautiful and extremely cool, two time breast cancer survivor. We were so excited to be assigned to
bevello, a huge, gorgeous shop full of stunning fashions and accessories! Our only dilemma was deciding which of the fabulous outfits to choose! Erika and I decided since this was a special event and we were going to be walking the runway that we would go with dresses and heels ~ which is a little different than the every day norm for both of us. We chose Erika's dress first ~ a flirty raspberry colored dress that really showed off here amazing legs! I chose mine next ~ a knit column dress in gray with black waist detail. For shoes Erika wore her own floral pumps, because they were too perfect with the dress not too, and I wore black suede Steve Madden pumps also provided by
bevello. The ladies of bevello were great to work with and so very helpful! They really did everything they could to make our shopping experience fun and successful. Both Erika and I ended up purchasing a few other things on our shopping trip as well! Our next stop was
Kendra Scott, also at the Shops Around Lenox, who provided our gorgeous jewels for the event.
On the day of the fashion show we arrived early at the W Hotel for hair and makeup, done by the talented crew of
Van Michael Salon. After a fashion show run through we moved to the dressing room to put on our own "party clothes" for the pre-fashion show cocktail hour. At the cocktail hour we got to visit with family, friends and event attendees before heading back to the dressing room to get into our runway clothes. Along with the survivors and blogger/stylists, Atlanta's most eligible bachelors were part of the show and did a fabulous job escorting the survivors down the catwalk. Josh Murray from the Bachelorette was the night's special guest/head bachelor (even though he's taken) and he was a lot of fun! What a sweet guy! Andi is a lucky girl! We all strutted our stuff in front of a sold out crowd. All the night's proceeds went directly to
the Pink Heals Foundation. It was a night to remember for all involved! I really hope they ask me to be a part of the event again next year! I have a very special friend who is currently undergoing her third battle with breast cancer and I want her to strut her stuff with me at the next Cure on the Catwalk!!
