Yo-yo Weather Style

The weather here has been doing what the weather always does here this time of the year ~ yo-yo's from cold to warm and back again!  It's warm again this week with the promise (yes, it's a promise to a cold weather loving girl like me) of cooler temps coming soon.  So what does someone wear for this yo-yo weather we've been experiencing?  Favorite denim shorts and a Chanel inspired jacket, of course!  Layers are your best bet for this time of the year ~ you can put them on and take them off as needed.  And pairing a dressy jacket and pumps with distressed denim shorts is fun and unexpected!

W Thinks Pink Cure on the Catwalk Recap

For a second year I was asked to be part of the W Thinks Pink Cure on the Catwalk to benefit the Pink Heals Foundation and it's an honor for me to be chosen to be part of such a great event! I have several family members and close friends who are cancer survivors or are currently undergoing chemo for this awful disease so to be chosen to give back in this way means a lot!

Blogger/stylists from the Southern Blog Society were paired up with cancer survivors for styling sessions at the Shops Around Lenox to help them (and us) get runway ready for the fashion show/charity event the took place at the W Hotel Buckhead on September 30th.  I was paired up with Erika, an amazing, beautiful and extremely cool, two time breast cancer survivor.  We were so excited to be assigned to bevello,  a huge, gorgeous shop full of stunning fashions and accessories!  Our only dilemma was deciding which of the fabulous outfits to choose!  Erika and I decided since this was a special event and we were going to be walking the runway that we would go with dresses and heels ~ which is a little different than the every day norm for both of us.  We chose Erika's dress first ~ a flirty raspberry colored dress that really showed off here amazing legs!  I chose mine next ~ a knit column dress in gray with black waist detail.  For shoes Erika wore her own floral pumps, because they were too perfect with the dress not too, and I wore black suede Steve Madden pumps also provided by bevello.  The ladies of bevello were great to work with and so very helpful!  They really did everything they could to make our shopping experience fun and successful.  Both Erika and I ended up purchasing a few other things on our shopping trip as well!  Our next stop was Kendra Scott, also at the Shops Around Lenox, who provided our gorgeous jewels for the event.

On the day of the fashion show we arrived early at the W Hotel for hair and makeup, done by the talented crew of Van Michael Salon.  After a fashion show run through we moved to the dressing room to put on our own "party clothes" for the pre-fashion show cocktail hour.  At the cocktail hour we got to visit with family, friends and event attendees before heading back to the dressing room to get into our runway clothes.  Along with the survivors and blogger/stylists, Atlanta's most eligible bachelors were part of the show and did a fabulous job escorting the survivors down the catwalk.  Josh Murray from the Bachelorette was the night's special guest/head bachelor (even though he's taken) and he was a lot of fun! What a sweet guy!  Andi is a lucky girl!  We all strutted our stuff in front of a sold out crowd.  All the night's proceeds went directly to the Pink Heals Foundation.  It was a night to remember for all involved!  I really hope they ask me to be a part of the event again next year!  I have a very special friend who is currently undergoing her third battle with breast cancer and I want her to strut her stuff with me at the next Cure on the Catwalk!!

It's ok to be jealous! Yes, Josh is as sweet as he is handsome!

My family came to the event to show their support.  My girls and I during the cocktail hour.  We never met a step and repeat we didn't like! ha!

I loved getting to know and spend time with this beautiful lady!

Kimono Casual

If you ask me what I think the perfect casual season transition outfit is I'd say a kimono, distressed boyfriend jeans, silk tank and suede booties.  The jeans and booties keep it comfy, casual.  The silk tank dresses the look up a bit and the kimono is the perfect completer piece.  And what about the fringe?!?!  Obsessed!

What I'm Wearing ~
Kimono: Umgee USA via Encore / Similar here
Distressed Boyfriend Jeans: Genetic c/o Encore / Similar
Suede Booties: Sam Edelman via Encore

Bangles: Boho Gal / I just added this one to my jewelry wardrobe
Clutch: Encore / Similar

Fringe and twirling go together... it had to be done!

From the Archives ~ Transition

Fall happened here in Georgia over the weekend.  Like real fall.  Very cool (even cold on Saturday) temps and the leaves on the trees started to change.  I lived in boots, jeans and flannel!  It's heaven for me.  I love layering, boots, scarves, sweaters, jeans, jackets...and the fall colors make me so happy!  Today I realized that I had a few "saved up" outfits in the blog archives from summer to fall transition that I hadn't posted yet and I decided to go ahead and post them before my full-on fall outfit posts start!

Kimonos are a great way to layer during the transition months with out being too hot!

What I'm Wearing ~
"Maxi" Kimono: Forever 21 (sold out) / Love the fall-like colors in this one!
Orange Tank: Versona / Similar
Denim Shorts: Gap / Similar
Wedges: Chinese Laundry / These are on a great sale!
Tassel Necklace: Stella & Dot (I wear it with everything - from cocktail attire to denim!)
Earrings: Stella & Dot (these are "transformer" jewelry ~ they go from chandeliers to studs!)
Leather Cuff: Tory Burch (LOVING this one and this one! 100% of the proceeds goes to breast cancer research!
Bag: Vintage Gucci via Agora Vintage / Similar

A close up of the Pop Geo Chandeliers in "stud" form

How perfect is this necklace?  You can wear it several ways too!

How's the weather where you are?  Has fall decided to make it's appearance or are you still in transition?
