Closet Staple ~ White Jeans

Every woman needs at least one pair of white jeans in her wardrobe.  White jeans are perfect for spring and summer but can also be worn year-round with the right top, shoes and accessories.  Many women believe that white jeans make you look heavier, and that's just not true.  It's all about the fit not the color.  Anything that you wear that is too tight or too big will make you look heavier.  The key to finding the perfect jeans, no matter if they are white or regular denim, is trying them on.  Take several pair into the dressing room, different sizes and different cuts, and try them all on.  I know it's a pain but it's worth it when you find the perfect pair!  I would suggest once you find the perfect pair you buy two, one to hem to wear with flats and one to keep longer to wear with heels or to cuff (if they are skinny jeans).  I also love a good distressed pair too!

Do you own a pair (or two) of white jeans? If you don't, is it something you are planning on adding to your closet? XO Elizabeth

Daytime or Date-night

I think this outfit is perfect for daytime or date-night.  From a workplace that allows denim (like so many now do), to lunch with friends or dinner out, you can never go wrong with dark-wash denim, a fab pair of pumps (or sandals), a beautiful blouse and great jewelry.  It's easy, chic dressing at it's best!

~What I'm Wearing ~

Short Sleeve Blouse: Piperlime (sold out) - Loving this onethis one and this one!
Dark Wash Skinny Jeans: Blank NYC (Blank NYC is my favorite brand of jeans.  They are really affordable for designer jeans and the fit is amazing!)
Leopard Pumps: Nine West (Leopard pumps are classic and a closet staple.  They go with everything and should be part of every girl's wardrobe.)
Statement Necklace: Stella & Dot
Clutch: Stella & Dot
Bracelets: S&DS&D and S&D

fab'rik Denim Dinner, SPANX Denim and a Giveaway!

First I want to say "thanks" for hanging in there while I try to figure out how to juggle things now that I've had to go back to work full time!  I'm not ignoring the blog...you my readers and my blog are on my mind all the time... but I'm trying to fit in a full time job, the launch of a Stella & Dot business, home, family, styling and blogging so my three-to-four-times-a-week posts have become challenging to get done!  Hopefully it will all get worked out soon and I promise to post as much as I can in the meantime!  Now on to today's post...

One of the best things about being a blogger is getting invited to fun events and reviewing great products and when those two things are combined it's a win win!  Last week I was invited to attend a "Denim Dinner" at fab'rik Suwanee, hosted by both fab'rik Suwanee and fab'rik Mall of Georgia which are owned by friends Kim and Tiffany.  The idea of the Denim Dinner was to get a select group of fashion bloggers together to talk fashion, eat good food, and try out the new denim line by SPANX.  You read that right, our favorite shapewear line now makes denim!!  Right now the line comes in dark wash, black and faux leather.  I've been in the market for a good dark wash pair of jeans so that is what I chose to try on first and immediately loved!!  The jeans are more like jeggings (jean leggings) with the fit and feel of high quality denim combined with SPANX.  They have strategically placed back pockets with faux front pockets and fly and a medium/high rise.  Stay on the lookout for them to make an appearance on the blog in the coming days (as soon as I have a chance to shoot some pics in them!) I've worn them, oh, about 4 times since the dinner!  They are super comfy and extremely stylish.

And now for some good news for you... fab'rik wants to give one of my followers a pair of SPANX denim too!!  And more good news... fab'rik also wants to give all of you a 20% discount on your purchase at their Mall of Georgia and Suwanee locations for the month of October!  What do you have to do?  To win the SPANX denim you must follow me on Instagram (@mzsavvystyle) along with fab'rik Mall of Georgia (@fabrikmallofga) and fab'rik Suwanee (@fabriksuwanee).  Then you must repost the giveaway pic I've posted on Instagram, tag two friends, tag @fab'riksuwanee and @fabrikmallofga and use the hashtags #giveaway #fabrikdenimdinner and #mzsavvystylelovesSPANX.  The winner will be announced October 31st on my Instagram!!  And don't worry if you don't live in Georgia, you can still enter to win and fab'rik will send the jeans to you!  To get the 20% discount all you have to do is mention me (Elizabeth ~ Mz Savvy Style) and my blog at either location between now and October 31st!!  Free jeans and a 20% discount?  It's a win win for you too!

I love the fabulous outfit on my new friend.  She's wearing the SPANX in faux leather.

First let me say that when this was taken I had been up since 4:15am and it was about 9:00pm at this point, hence the bags under my eyes, faded makeup and bad bangs!  Now for What I'm Wearing ~

Summer Review

I know that the official end of summer isn't until later this month but once Labor Day has come and gone everyone is thinking fall...at least I know I am!!  Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year for many reasons but the fall fashion is at the tippy top of the list so I'm going to try to start the summer to fall wardrobe transition.  The weather here in Georgia doesn't usually cooperate with my desire for layers, sweater, boots and such as early as September but I'm going to give it a shot!  Here is a little look back at some of this summer's favorite looks.  And yes, the majority of the pics were BMP (before my photographer) so they aren't the best quality.

At the beach

The Fourth of July

Casual vacation style

Little Blue Dress

Dressing down a metallic skirt

One of my favorite trends of the summer ~ jumpsuits!

Boho Maxi Dress

Date night style ~ faded jeans, a dressy top and fun heels!

Another fabulous summer trend ~ gladiators!

The kimono is the summer's answer to layering.

Summer Business Casual

One piece dressing is the bomb!

Pattern Mixing

Easy summer casual

White on White

White summer skort on repeat!

Leather for summer? Absolutely!

and...another romper!

Beach Style ~ wearing an oversized scarf as a coverup

Rompers, Joggers, Striped, Cage Sandals, Cross Body Bags and Leather Shorts...so many trends representing here!

Little Black Jumpsuit ~ the alternative to the LBD!

Are you ready for fall fashion or are you wishing summer would last a little longer?
