Daytime or Date-night

I think this outfit is perfect for daytime or date-night.  From a workplace that allows denim (like so many now do), to lunch with friends or dinner out, you can never go wrong with dark-wash denim, a fab pair of pumps (or sandals), a beautiful blouse and great jewelry.  It's easy, chic dressing at it's best!

~What I'm Wearing ~

Short Sleeve Blouse: Piperlime (sold out) - Loving this onethis one and this one!
Dark Wash Skinny Jeans: Blank NYC (Blank NYC is my favorite brand of jeans.  They are really affordable for designer jeans and the fit is amazing!)
Leopard Pumps: Nine West (Leopard pumps are classic and a closet staple.  They go with everything and should be part of every girl's wardrobe.)
Statement Necklace: Stella & Dot
Clutch: Stella & Dot
Bracelets: S&DS&D and S&D
Sunnies: Pucci

In Transition

We're in transition ~ transition from winter to spring ~ and sometimes knowing what to wear can be difficult.  One day it's 80+ and the next day it's 40.  Or it starts off cold in the morning only to warmup by 30 degrees later in the day.  Layering is the way to go this time of the year.  Cardigans, denim jackets, utility jackets, blazers and leather jackets are the perfect completer pieces.  Easy to pull off if it gets warm but look great if you have to keep them on all day.

~What I'm Wearing ~
Faux Leather Jacket: Piperlime (sold out) Similar here and it's under $100!
Sweater: Gap (old) Similar
Leopard Pants: Isaac Mizrahi NY (last year) Similar
Booties - Guess (old) Similar
Bag: Vintage Louis Vuitton via Agora Vintage Athens (This one is perfect for spring/summer!)
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Earrings: Stella & Dot
Lips: Julep Plush Pout Lip Crayon

I fell in love with these pants the minute I saw them.  The party in the front business in the back is so unique!  I wish they were still available!  I searched everywhere for you but they are completely sold out.  I did find solid leopard pants here and here.

Springing Forward

Once the whole "spring forward" thing happens I start thinking about spring clothes.  Since the weather and temps are completely unpredictable this time of the year, adding a few new pieces to my already existing wardrobe that can be worn now when it's cooler (with a jacket or cardigan and pumps or booties) and later when things warm up (alone with sandals) is the perfect way to freshen up my transition wardrobe.  Here are a few pieces that I have my eye on...and a few I've already added to my spring closet!

This pretty, feminine dress would look great worn with a denim jacket and booties now and worn alone with a bright sandal and fabulous statement necklace later.

The long sleeves on this cute polka dot romper make it three-season appropriate.

This jumpsuit looks so comfy!  Wear it with a boyfriend cardigan until the temps rise.  Add bright pumps and a fun statement necklace to make the outfit date night perfect!

This dress is a new addition to my closet, is on sale for under $45 and can be worn year round.  I'll be wearing this pretty white sheath for Easter with this spring perfect necklace and floral pumps.

This gorgeous floral romper is spring perfection!  It's already sold out (no wonder, right?) but I'm on the wait list for when it's restocked and you should be too!

I bought this jumpsuit the minute I saw it.  It was definitely love at first sight!  It quickly sold out (I guess lots of other girls fell in love too!) but I found a few similar styles for you here and here.  I think this long layered pendant will look perfect with all three!

A pastel mani is the perfect way to bring some spring into your life no matter the temps.  LuLuAli and Janet are my new favorites!

Are you ready to put a little spring in your wardrobe?

Limits and Favorites

I'm back after an almost six week, completely unintended blogging break.  It's a long story but it all boils down to the fact that I was trying my hardest to do it all and it got the best of me.  Keeping up with a very stressful day job, getting my Stella & Dot business off the ground, taking care of my family, running a home, being a good friend, daughter, sister, the blog, up at 4:15am to not hit the pillow until after 11:00pm (and the list goes on) made me exhausted, overwhelmed and sick.  I got shingles due to the stress.  I kept telling myself I could keep going, that I could keep doing it all but I realized that I have my limits.  I hate to admit it.  As a type A, never stop kind of person it's a hard realization, but I can't do it all.  Or maybe I can for a while (which I'd been doing) but the exhaustion, stress and anxiety would catch up and take me out for a while.  So I had to back off of a few things, get rest and get better.  I also had to make some decisions about letting some things go and I have decided that the day job is it.  So June 1st I will be moving on and focusing on my Stella & Dot business and the blog/styling/personal shopping.  It's a leap of faith but it's time, it's necessary and it's really exciting!  Thank you for hanging in there for this little hiatus of mine and not leaving me!  I promise there are great things to come for Mz Savvy Style!!  Until June, when I can finally have the time I need to blog several times a week, I'll do my best to post at least twice a week.  I've missed the creativity of blogging and I've missed all of you!

Now back to fashion...  I've got several sets of really great winter outfit pictures that I want to share with you all before it gets too warm out and faux fur and layers looks silly.  I'll throw in a little spring style inspiration along the way too until I totally transition over to the new season.

This outfit consists of most of my favorite pieces from this fall/winter season ~ the perfect leopard pumps, distressed boyfriend jeans (I'm obsessed with distressed denim - it's become an addiction!), snakeskin cross-body bag with a gorgeous gold chain strap, the coolest faux fur/sweatshirt jacket and a mixed metal tassel necklace that goes with everything!

This Tassel Necklace is a must have for every wardrobe!  It's my go-to.

... At least not all at once!

Shoes are Nine West, jeans are Genetic c/o Encore Athens (love these), faux fur jacket is from Piperlime, bag is Cynthia Rowley from T.J. Maxx a few years ago (this one is at the top of my spring wish list!) and my jewelry is all Stella & Dot!!

One more REALLY cool thing I wanted to share with all of you... Alyson, the fabulous blogger behind the must read blog The Average Girl's Guide, did a post on the best style bloggers over 40 and guess who made the list?!  Me!  Check it out here!

Joie De La Vie

Joie De La Vie means "The Joy of Life" in French.  I didn't know that when I bought this sweater, I bought it because I love graphic anything, especially when it's in black and white.  So before I wore it I asked my sweet friend, Stephanie, who is French (and owns an amazing French restaurant, La Petite Maison here in Georgia) what my sweater said...just in case! I was happy when Stephanie told me that it means "The Joy of Life" because not only do I love the saying and will wear it proudly, but it's also my good friend Cindy's favorite saying so every time I wear it I will think of her!  Speaking of my friend Cindy, she's the mommy behind the blog Surviving Mommy, a must read for every woman - mommy or not!  Check out her latest post on her surprise run-in with Ben Affleck (lucky girl!!)

What I'm Wearing ~
Puffer Jacket: Piperlime (it's currently on a crazy good sale! Like under $50!)
Graphic Sweater: Forever 21 (also on a crazy good sale! Under $20!!)
Faux Leather Pants: Forever 21 (yep, on sale too!) If you have not tried out the leather pants trend these would be a great pair to start with!  They fit like regular trousers but are in fabulous, super soft, just-like-real-leather faux leather.
Pointy Toe Pumps: Nine West (These pumps are the perfect heel height - not too high but not too low.)
Bag: Vintage Coach Willis Bag via Agora Vintage Shop (Current version here)
EarringsRingBraceletBracelet and Bracelet are all Stella & Dot

Post Christmas Piperlime Sale!

I usually wait until Monday to post but I had to let you all know about the awesome sale Piperlime has going before all the good stuff is gone!  With code CHIC50 you get an ADDITIONAL 50% off of already reduced boots, shoes, sweaters, coats, jeans, skirts, tops and more!  Oh, and they offer free shipping!  I've already placed two orders and my shopping cart is full again!  That Christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket and these deals are too good to pass up.  Shopping in my pj's instead of trudging out to the store is perfect!  I've purchased several items I've had my eye on all season for much less than half of the original price.  Gotta love those after Christmas sales!  Here are just a few of my favorites...

Happy Shopping!! XO Elizabeth
