Travel Style with Agora Vintage

Today is part two of my collaboration with my favorite vintage shop, Agora Vintage, and my blogger friend, Hannah Betzel.  Earlier this week Hannah and I shared our wedding looks, styled with fabulous vintage and designer finds from our recent trip to Agora and today we are sharing what we'd wear for travel.  Summer travel for me can mean many different things... our annual beach trip with my family, flying up to Pittsburgh to visit my parents, business travel, girl's weekends with my bestie and mini getaways with The Hubs.  My travel uniform for all of these occasions is pretty much the same... comfy jeans, a lightweight long-sleeved top, wedges or flats that are easy to take on and off, a cross-body bag for my essentials and a roomy tote.  Of course no outfit would be complete without fun jewelry and fab sunnies!

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Theory Tunic: Agora Vintage
Kick Flare Jeans (They are a HOT trend this season!): Gap
Chloe Wedges (OBSESSED!!): Agora Vintage

What's your travel uniform?  Do you switch it up depending on the travel occasion or have a tried and true go-to like I do?  Make sure to hop on over to Hannah's Blog to check out her travel style!  It's fabulous!

Leopard and a Tee

Spring Cravings

As soon as the temps start to warm up I start craving some new spring items to freshen up my wardrobe.  Some of my cravings are trends and others are classics.  Some will make it into my wardrobe, some are already there and some are just a dream.  I'm sure my list will continue to grow as I scourer some of my favorite blogs and help clients with their spring wardrobes (because don't you find the best stuff when you're shopping for someone else??).   Here are some of my spring favorites ~

What are you craving so far this season? XO Elizabeth

In Transition

We're in transition ~ transition from winter to spring ~ and sometimes knowing what to wear can be difficult.  One day it's 80+ and the next day it's 40.  Or it starts off cold in the morning only to warmup by 30 degrees later in the day.  Layering is the way to go this time of the year.  Cardigans, denim jackets, utility jackets, blazers and leather jackets are the perfect completer pieces.  Easy to pull off if it gets warm but look great if you have to keep them on all day.

~What I'm Wearing ~
Faux Leather Jacket: Piperlime (sold out) Similar here and it's under $100!
Sweater: Gap (old) Similar
Leopard Pants: Isaac Mizrahi NY (last year) Similar
Booties - Guess (old) Similar
Bag: Vintage Louis Vuitton via Agora Vintage Athens (This one is perfect for spring/summer!)
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Earrings: Stella & Dot
Lips: Julep Plush Pout Lip Crayon

I fell in love with these pants the minute I saw them.  The party in the front business in the back is so unique!  I wish they were still available!  I searched everywhere for you but they are completely sold out.  I did find solid leopard pants here and here.

Simply Simple

Do you ever have those days where you are in a hurry to get out the door but are drawing a complete blank on what to wear?  I've felt this way a lot lately (especially since most of my days start at 4:15am!) so I have pulled together a few "simply simple", wear just about anywhere, I can put it on in five minutes and still look cute outfits that I keep in the front of my closet so I can just grab and go on those days.  Tone on tone or one color outfits are usually fail proof and look instantly chic.  Audrey Hepburn was a master of the one color outfit.  Her simply simple style of cropped skinny pants, a sweater, chic flats and of course, pearls, is classically timeless and a look I find myself gravitating towards in my own wardrobe and wearing on repeat.  I love other one color outfits like gray with gray or white with white but I tend to gravitate towards black with black (I guess it's the Audrey in me!).

What I'm Wearing ~
Sweater: Gap (30% off online with code HAPPY)
Jeans: Old Navy (25% off with code ONSAVENOW) I sized up two sizes to give them a skinny-boyfriend look.
Skimmers: Charlotte Russe (old) ~ Identical
Clutch: Urban Expressions c/o Encore Athens ~ Similar
Necklace: Stella & Dot (It can be worn several ways!)
Bracelet: Stella & Dot (On SALE!!)
Earrings: Stella & Dot (So classic!!)

What are your simply simple go-to outfits?

Yo-yo Weather Style

The weather here has been doing what the weather always does here this time of the year ~ yo-yo's from cold to warm and back again!  It's warm again this week with the promise (yes, it's a promise to a cold weather loving girl like me) of cooler temps coming soon.  So what does someone wear for this yo-yo weather we've been experiencing?  Favorite denim shorts and a Chanel inspired jacket, of course!  Layers are your best bet for this time of the year ~ you can put them on and take them off as needed.  And pairing a dressy jacket and pumps with distressed denim shorts is fun and unexpected!

What I'm Wearing ~
Hot Pink Cropped Jacket: Cynthia Rowley via T.J.Maxx / Similar here
Distressed Denim Shorts: Gap
Striped Top: Old Navy
Striped Pumps: Forever 21 last year / Similar here

Something I love to do any time of the year is layer my jewelry!  Neck parties and arm stacks are my favorite!!  Bring on the bling!! Pop Geo NecklaceEye Candy Necklace and Nancy Studs all from Stella & Dot

Pave Chevron CuffStrength Bracelet (100% of the proceeds for the entire month of October go to the Noreen Fraser Foundation for breast cancer research!!), Arrison Stretch Bracelet all from Stella & Dot

I layered two of my favorite statement necklaces to make a bright, bold neck party!
Eye Candy Necklace  and Pop Geo Necklace both from Stella & Dot

Summer Staples

Each season there are certain items in my closet that I reach for time and time again.  This spring/summer my deconstructed boyfriend shorts, oversized, lightweight summer sweaters and comfy wedges have been on constant rotation.  Oh, and my Tory Burch straw tote that I have carried to death and my Stella and Dot Gitane Tassel Necklace that I have barely taken off since I bought it.  For some reason this outfit combo makes me feel like Cameron Diaz, only I'm a lot shorter...and older...and not blond...but a girl can dream, right?!

What I'm Wearing ~
Deconstructed Boyfriend Shorts: American Eagle via Platos Closet (I also have this pair from Gap and love them!)
Summer SweaterGap (It's such a great sweater, I have it in four colors.  It will be the perfect summer to fall transition piece too!)
Wedge Cage Sandals: Steve Madden via T.J.Maxx (Similar here and here)
Tote: Tory Burch (I'd love this leather version for fall.)
Tassel NecklaceStella and Dot (It can be worn several different ways, goes with just about everything and comes in silver as well!)
Sunnies: Jessica Simpson via T.J.Maxx
Belt: Gap Factory (Similar)

What are your summer staples?

Happy Fourth of July...and that scarf tying trick I promised!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!!  The Fourth and Thanksgiving are my favorite holiday's ~ both include running (I either do an "event" run or just a fun run with friends/family), food, family, cute outfits and no stress!!  I'm so excited to get the day started!

If you follow me on Twitter or facebook you know that I mentioned I was going to share the coolest scarf trying trick on today's blog.  My oldest daughter, Megan, hosted a Stella & Dot party at her home on Tuesday night.  The Stella & Dot stylist, Grisel, shared this tying trick with the attendees and it too great to not pass on to you all!  It just so happens that the scarf I wear for the Fourth every year works perfectly tied like this so I decided to do a Fourth of July/Scarf Tying Trick post all in one!

Hold the scarf horizontally

Fold the scarf in half

Tie together at the top of the folded end and the open end with a small knot

Open the scarf at the open ends...and you have a vest!

Put your arms through the holes and adjust

Scarf vest!

To say I'm super excited about this tying trick is an understatement!  I have a ton of scarves and with vests and kimonos being all the rage this summer I now have a ton of vests and kimonos!!  The longer scarves, like this one, can be used as a great beach/pool cover-up at well.  I bought this gorgeous scarf at Meg's Stella & Dot party to take to the beach with me next week!

What I'm Wearing ~
Scarf (made into a kimono/vest): Entourage Athens (Identical)
Jean Shorts: Old Navy last summer (they are way too big this year thanks to 9 months of no carbs but I'm wearing them as boyfriend shorts with a belt. This year's version here.)
Basic White T: Gap
Wedges: New York and Company (Similar)
Straw Tote: Tory Burch (This one is sooooo cute for The Fourth!)
Sunnies: Pucci

The back.  How cute is the top where it is tied?!  You could also pull the scarf up at the bottom and tie it at the waist to make the vest shorter.

Have you seen this scarf tying trick before or is it something new to you like it was to me?  What are your Fourth of July plans?  Have a fun and safe holiday!!

XO
Elizabeth
PS ~ Meg's Stella & Dot trunk show is open for a few more days.  They have some really great stuff and fabulous deals for summer!  If you want to take a peek (and/or place an order) you can do it here!
