Saying Goodbye to Summer

This is it ~ today's the last official day of summer and tomorrow, at 4:21am, will begin my favorite season of the year ~ fall!!  Now if the weather here in Georgia would magically cooperate...

What better outfit to say "goodbye" to summer in than my favorite trend of the season, a jumpsuit, in my favorite colors of the season, turquoise, white and purple.  And I'm happy to report that the jumpsuit trend isn't going anywhere as the temps get cooler.  I've got a few perfect-for-fall jumpsuits on my radar like this one, that's a great option for date night or an evening on the town, and this one (which I just ordered), that would be perfect for a business/casual office or brunch with friends.

Still Summer

I took some time this week to get my blog photo files organized because I'm heading into a super busy time (more on that another day) and I want to be as efficient as I can.  As I was going through all of my pictures I realized that I still have a ton of great summer outfits I've not yet posted!  So since it's technically still summer until September 23rd (and it's as hot as blazes here in Georgia) I'm going to take a few more weeks and post some of my favorite summer outfits that haven't made it to the blog yet.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

White Textured Woven Dress: Forever 21 | This dress in under $20 and I have worn it to death this summer!!  It's semi-sheer so you have to wear a cami and boy-shorts or a body-con slip-dress underneath.  I've done both.
Cross-body Bag: Versona Accessories | I'm loving THIS beaded version!
Lace-up Faux Snake Gladiators: Zappos | These are another thing I have worn to death this summer!  They are both cute and comfy and go with everything!

JORD and a Jumpsuit

I love a good jumpsuit and I love a good piece of jewelry.  What's even better is when they are both functional and fabulous!

Jumpsuits are easy to toss on and go.  They can work for all kinds of occasions ~ from brunch with friends to dinner out with The Hubs, from a business casual office to a red carpet event ~ I've worn a jumpsuit for all of these environments and events.  It's all about the accessories and completer pieces you pair with your one piece wonder.

My iPhone replaced my watch years ago but when I was introduced to these beautiful JORD wood watches I knew I had to add one to my daily arm party.  I'm all about unique pieces and JORD does them well!  They have watches for both men and women in all different woods, shapes, faces and sizes.  They also fit the watch to you before it's shipped out so it comes ready to wear!  This Kora Wood and Rose Gold beauty is next on my wish list!

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Olive Utility Jumpsuit: Forever 21 | The one I'm wearing just sold out online but I found a few more almost-identical options HERE, HERE and HERE that are all under $35!  I'm ordering the long sleeve version in blue for fall.
Gold Wedges: Y'all these things are soooo old and they are still some of my favorites!  They are by Steve Madden and currently not available (because they are so old, ha!).  Here are a few similar options ~ Zappos, DV by Dolce Vita, Candie's (These are under $25!)
Tote: Tory Burch | I've been carrying this bag for three summers now and I still love it.  Nothing says "summer" like a straw and metallic tote!  HERE's another great summer tote you can carry now and pull out again next summer!

Side note ~ Olive is my color obsession right now.  It pairs beautifully with any color from other neutrals to bold brights and it transitions from season to season.

Flashback Friday ~ Family Beach Vacation 2015

We've been back from our annual family beach vacation for almost two weeks now and I'm already wishing we could go back!  Having an entire week on quality family time is precious and something I don't take for granted.  Here are a few moments from this years' trip to St. George Island...

There are a ton of dolphin at St. George and one of my favorite things to do while we are there is take the kayak out and get as close to them as possible!  We've had some very close encounters over the years!

The Herrin's, Hall's and Cape's at St. George Island.  We were missing four Herrin's this year.  My brother-in-law and his family couldn't make it out from California due to some other commitments.  It's the first time in the (very) long history of our family vacation that people were missing.  We are looking forward to Christmas when we are all together.

We are blessed to be able to have this time together, away from it all, each summer.  It's one of my favorite weeks of the year.  Did you and yours get to get away this summer?

It's All About the Fringe

I have been looking for the perfect summer/vacation LBD (little black dress) since seeing the movie The Other Woman and becoming obsessed with Cameron Diazs' character's entire wardrobe.  Her clothes, bags and jewelry were absolute perfection throughout the whole movie, especially this dress and this necklace.  I'm built NOTHING like Cameron (and I never will be unless I hit a sudden growth spurt, grow 8 inches and loose 30 pounds) but I can take her style and make it my own which is what I did.  I found this fringe trapeze cami dress at Forever 21 and it is exactly what I had been looking for.  The shorter hemline is better for my petite frame and the fringe makes it so much fun!!  I paired my dress with simple jewelry a'la Cameron, floral lace-up sandals and a straw bag.

My bag is from a consignment shop years ago.  Here's a similar one (and it's on sale!)  The shoes are current Madden Girl.

It was so humid when we shot these pictures that the camera lens kept fogging up!

Spring Cravings

As soon as the temps start to warm up I start craving some new spring items to freshen up my wardrobe.  Some of my cravings are trends and others are classics.  Some will make it into my wardrobe, some are already there and some are just a dream.  I'm sure my list will continue to grow as I scourer some of my favorite blogs and help clients with their spring wardrobes (because don't you find the best stuff when you're shopping for someone else??).   Here are some of my spring favorites ~

Wrapping Up Winter

It feels a little funny posting a faux fur vest and an over-sized sweater when it was 86 degrees in Georgia today but they are in pastel pink and that's springish, right?  The sudden high temps are not going to last long, it's supposed to be in the low 50's again later this week, but I did get an interesting sunburn while at a baseball game over the weekend.  I posted a picture and details of what gave me such odd tan lines on Instagram which you can see here!  It was a major fashion fail and a lesson for all of us who love a certain denim trend!

I didn't realize until I was typing the "What I'm Wearing" part of this post that most of my outfit is from Forever 21!  I guess it just goes to show you that you don't have to be 21 (or anywhere near 21) to wear Forever 21!  They have some really fun, surprisingly good quality pieces.
