MADE in the deep south

I fell in love with MADE in the deep south jewelry two years ago while on vacation in Florida.  I was shopping in one of my favorite shops in Seaside when I came across these unique pieces.  I didn't purchase any that trip but continued to think about them so last year while on vacation I made sure I brought a piece of MADE jewelry home with me (until recently it wasn't sold anywhere in my area).  I bought a leather cuff with a 1940's vintage brooch on it.  It's one of my favorite and most worn pieces in my jewelry box. (You can see it hereherehere, and here just to share a few of the many times I wore the cuff!)

Michela Bruno Swafford is the founder and designer of MADE in the deep south jewelry.  She created this line of jewelry with the idea of making one of a kind jewelry using vintage and antique pieces collected from all over the world.  These pieces are then deconstructed and mixed with other pieces and materials to create new and unique jewelry.  Every piece of MADE jewelry is one of a kind and comes with it's own biography ~ pretty cool!  I love the fact that it's old but new, rugged but elegant.

I was excited (to say the least) when MADE said they wanted to send me a piece from their new line.  I received the most exquisite necklace made from a 1940's chandelier crystal pendant on a 1970's chain mixed with at 1940's necklace.  It changes color depending on what it's against so I can wear it with a multitude of things.  I've layered it over other necklaces and worn it alone like I did in today's post.

What I'm Wearing ~

My first MADE in the deep south piece ~ A brown leather cuff with a 1940's vintage brooch

My newest (but not my last) piece of MADE in the deep south jewelry ~ A statement necklace made with a 1940's chandelier crystal pendant, a 1970's chain and a 1940's necklace.
