Mz Savvy Style Loves Athens ~ Agora Vintage ~ The Perfect Coat

Today is post two of my blog series Mz Savvy Style Loves Athens ~Agora Vintage.  If you missed my first post featuring Agora and my amazing Chanel finds you can see it here.

The coat I'm featuring on today's blog is one I've been swooning over at Agora Vintage for a few months now so I knew that I had to wear it in one of my posts.  It's by Don Loper of Beverly Hills (Don Loper was a top Hollywood designer from the 1930's to the 1960's) and is the most gorgeous color of green you've ever seen!  If you have followed my blog for long you know I love leopard and the combo of green and leopard is my all time favorite so to me this coat is PERFECTION!  I stopped by Agora today to pick up the bag that I've had on layaway (yes, another great thing about Agora Vintage is that they do layaway, so if you see something you love but don't have the full funds at the moment you can have Airee hold it and you can make payments until it's yours!) and she told me that this amazing coat sold yesterday to a very lucky lady who's husband bought it for her as a gift.  But don't fret, Agora Vintage has lots of other swoon-worthy coats and they get more inventory every day.

What I'm Wearing ~ Coat: Don Loper Beverly Hills (sold, but if you love green coats like I do this cape is really pretty!) | Bag: Marc Jacobs (still available at Agora Vintage) | Boots: Chanel (no longer available...because they are now mine...but Airee has tons of fabulous boots from Dior and Chanel to Frye and Coach) | Sunnies: Fendi (still available and FABULOUS!) | Ring: Vintage Ruby and Diamond (still available and a steal)

A fabulous coat and Chanel boots make me want to kick up my heels!! haha!

I had to wear something under the coat so I chose this gorgeous Roberto Cavalli leather skirt and a fitted sweater by Henri Bendel (both still available at Agora Vintage)

This Marc Jacobs bag and ruby ring are to die for!  If the Hubs is reading, I'd love the ring for Mother's Day!

These two Chanel bags are currently in at Agora Vintage.  The first one is large and the second one is mini.  Both are completely amazing!

I hope you are enjoying my new series!  Keep reading because I have one more post from Agora Vintage and then over the next few months I'll be featuring more of my favorite Athens shops!  Because Mz Savvy Style Loves Athens!

Mz Savvy Style Loves Athens ~ Agora Vintage ~ Lots of Chanel

Today I'm starting a series on the blog I'm calling "Mz Savvy Style Loves Athens" where I feature my favorite shops and businesses around this beautiful little town.  Athens has a lot of unique stores, coffee houses and restaurants and I want to share some of my favs with all of you!

This week I'm featuring Agora Vintage, the sister store to Agora, which I discovered about a year ago even though it's been an Athens fixture for over a decade!  The original Agora is a vintage and antique co-op owned by Airee Hong Edwards located on West Clayton Street in downtown Athens.  Agora sells everything from vintage furniture, household items, clothing and jewelry to locally-made art.  Airee and her husband opened their second location, Agora Vintage, last summer on East Broad Street, directly across from The University of Georgia's north campus (and those famous arches!) and it features an amazing (and ever changing) inventory of gently used and vintage designer goods, such as shoes, boots, bags, jewelry, belts, coats, sweaters, dresses...an absolutely amazing selection!  It's literally handbag heaven, which if you know me at all is what first attracted me to it!  Airee carries every well known and sought after designer from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Hermes and Kate Spade to not-so-well-known but extremely unique and beautiful vintage clothing and bags all at UNBELIEVABLE prices!  Agora has a website and Facebook, takes phone orders (706-354-7303) and ships all over the U.S. so if you see something you like let Airee know!  And if you mention me, Mz Savvy Style, you get 10% off!

I went to Agora Vintage one afternoon last week and styled three different outfits out of Airee's huge inventory.  The hardest part was choosing what to feature, it's all so amazing I wanted to show it all!   Today I'm sharing with you the first outfit I styled which ended up being mostly vintage Chanel (but not on purpose)!  I pulled the jacket first because who wouldn't want to wear a Chanel jacket even if it's only for a little while, right?  Just the buttons are to die for!  Next came a blouse by St. John, which I felt complemented the jacket well (if she'd had a vintage t-shirt I would have gone with that but those are at her other location).  The jeans are my own that I wore to the store that day.  They dress down the jacket making it less formal and fancy and more wearable for the average girl.  The shoes, sunnies and earrings are all Chanel as well so I went with a no-name vintage patchwork bag so I wasn't doing designer overload!  Too much of a good thing can be too much!

What I'm Wearing ~ Jacket, Earrings, Pumps and Sunglasses: Vintage Chanel via Agora Vintage | Blouse: St. John via Agora Vintage | Bag: No Name Vintage Leather Patchwork (so fun!) via Agora Vintage | Jeans: Blank Denim | Ring: Red Vintage via Agora Vintage

Tomorrow I'm going to share the second outfit from my day of styling at Agora...and it features two of my favorite things...emerald and leopard!  Oh, and a little more Chanel!

Like a Magpie

You know how magpie's are attracted to anything shiny and hummingbirds are drawn to anything red?  I'm that way with leopard ~ if it's leopard I'm all over it!  Coats, shoes, jackets, bags, tops, scarves, bracelets, skirts, shorts, dresses, chairs, rugs, throws...I can't get enough leopard!  Which brings me to these pants ~ leopard, bootcut pants from the juniors section at a local consignment shop.  I spotted them the minute I walked into the store and once I tried them on and they fit (yay!) I didn't care if they are maybe a little much for someone my age, they had to come home with me!  Because the pants are bold (even though leopard is considered a neutral it is still bold) I decided to pair them with a simple black sweater.  The emerald green pumps pop against the leopard without competing with it and play off of the green stones in my statement necklace.

What are you drawn too?  Leopard like me or another pattern or color?

Oxblood, Hot Pink, Cuffs and Snow

Since snow days are hard to come by here in Georgia I decided to take advantage of the snow we had last week and use it as a backdrop for some blog pics.  Snow is just so darn pretty I couldn't pass up the chance!  If you missed my earlier snow day outfit post you can it here.

I'm kind of obsessed with these Hudson skinnies right now because they haven't fit in a while and now that they do I want to wear them all the time! I also have an olive green pair with a neon yellow stripe in the same style and they've been getting a lot of wear time too.  I bought both pair a few seasons ago at TJMaxx on a super clearance (we're talking like $9) and even though they are a little harder to wear because of the bright tuxedo stripe I treat them like they are solid and pair them with a lot.  For today's outfit I decided to play up the hot pink stripe instead of ignoring it by wearing hot pink pumps (not exactly snow shoes but they made for cute pictures!), a hot pink statement necklace and one of my favorite bracelets in the same bright hue.  Speaking of bracelets, have you noticed a trend with me lately?  I've been wearing cuffs almost every single day.  I have always been a HUGE bracelet fan and have lots in different styles but cuffs are becoming my favorite go-to's.  Next on my wish list is this Tory Burch Cuff for spring/summer and this gorgeous cuff from Made In The Deep South.

What accessory have you been loving lately?

Neutrals

Sorry I didn't get a post done yesterday!  I was out most of the day working on a collaboration with one of the shops here in Athens and by the time I got home I was too exhausted to think!  Speaking of the collaboration ~ Next week I am starting a series on the blog I'm calling "Mz Savvy Style Loves Athens".  I decided a few months ago that since I love my beautiful little town and the unique shops and businesses we have here in Athens I wanted to feature some of my favorites on the blog.  So far the responses from the shop owners I've contacted about my idea have been very positive and enthusiastic and I can't wait to start sharing it all with you! Next week I'll kick off the series with my favorite vintage shop, Agora Vintage.  Stay tuned all next week for some amazing vintage outfits and accessories!  Seriously y'all the stuff is to die for ~ we're talking vintage Chanel, Marc Jacobs and more!  You can see a sneak peek here on my Instagram.

Now for today's outfit ~ After a week of bright Valentine inspired outfits last week and styling some bold outfits yesterday for next week's posts I was feeling a little neutral this morning.  Blush colored cords (that are a tad too big thanks to five months of dieting), a winter white Michael Kors drape front cardigan, a winter white shell, my new tan booties (that if you'd asked me this time last year if I would wear them I would have said "no" and now I want to wear them every day they are so comfy!) and my favorite leather and vintage brooch cuff.

What are you wearing today?

Happy Valentine's Day and Meilleur de la Semaine!

Happy Valentine's Day!  After a week of Valentine's outfit posts it's finally Valentine's Day!  It's been a week of being snowed/iced in here in Georgia and I have to admit I've enjoyed the downtime with my family (well, the kids ~ Hubs was in Philly and missed all the fun!) We couldn't go anywhere so we just enjoyed being together, watching movies and the Olympics, playing in the snow, making s'mores in the fireplace, sleeping in... It's been a nice break!  I'd have to say that being with my kids was my "Meilleur de la Semaine" ~ best of the week!

All of my posts this week were Valentine's inspired outfits but I think my favorite was yesterday's casual look of an ivory leather jacket, Valentine t-shirt and distressed skinny jeans.  If you missed any of this week's posts you can see them and get full outfit details herehere and here.

There are a few things I'm loving this week (besides the break with my family and Valentine's)...

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I belong to a few monthly box subscription services and that Julep is one of my favorites!  Julep is a nail polish and beauty product service.  Each month you receive at least two full size nail polishes (this month I got three) and a beauty product.  It's all customizable, you take a quiz about your preferences when you sign up.  The best part of Julep besides the great products is that you get an email around the 20th of each month showing you what's coming in your box and it giving you the option to switch to a different box if you like another better or you can opt out that month all together if you aren't crazy about any of them.  There have always been at least two or three boxes each month that have appealed to me!  After you take your box for three months in a row you get to choose a free polish (a $14.50 value) just for being a regular customer.  Check it out for yourself here!

The Twitter Plate Necklace that I ordered after Christmas from BaubleBar came late last week and I love it!! It's exactly what I'd hoped for, a necklace that's unique and of great quality that I can wear just about every day.  You can design one for yourself with your Twitter or Instagram name or with your favorite hashtag!  Super cute!  Check it out here!

So that's my Meilleur de la Semaine for this Valentine's week!  I hope you and yours have a wonderful, love-filled weekend!
