Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale ~ Tops & Bottoms

It's that time of year again ~ the time that all deal loving girls wait for ~ Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale!  Yesterday (July 9th) started Early Access which is an exclusive period where Nordstrom Rewards Members can shop the sale prior to non-members. Not a Nordstrom Rewards Member? Not to worry, you’ll be able to view the sale (HERE) and make a shopping cart of your favorites during Early Access, you just won't be able to purchase them until all access begins July 17th. I've gone through the entire online sale catalog and curated my favorites which I think will also be your favorites. As your personal shopper I tried to make the searching part easier so you can just click and shop! Today's post features my picks of tops and bottoms. There are several wardrobe staples in this group ~ the perfect white buttondown, classic black ponte knit pants, dark-wash skinny jeans, spot-on boyfriend jeans and a chambray top (with a twist). Side note ~ many of the items below come in more than one color so if you're not crazy about the colors I picked click on the picture and it will take you to the site where there are more options. Stay tuned because Wednesday I'll be sharing my tops picks for shoes, boots, bags, sunnies and scarves and Friday is dresses and jumpsuits!

Closet Staple ~ White Jeans

Every woman needs at least one pair of white jeans in her wardrobe.  White jeans are perfect for spring and summer but can also be worn year-round with the right top, shoes and accessories.  Many women believe that white jeans make you look heavier, and that's just not true.  It's all about the fit not the color.  Anything that you wear that is too tight or too big will make you look heavier.  The key to finding the perfect jeans, no matter if they are white or regular denim, is trying them on.  Take several pair into the dressing room, different sizes and different cuts, and try them all on.  I know it's a pain but it's worth it when you find the perfect pair!  I would suggest once you find the perfect pair you buy two, one to hem to wear with flats and one to keep longer to wear with heels or to cuff (if they are skinny jeans).  I also love a good distressed pair too!

Do you own a pair (or two) of white jeans? If you don't, is it something you are planning on adding to your closet? XO Elizabeth

Spring Cravings

As soon as the temps start to warm up I start craving some new spring items to freshen up my wardrobe.  Some of my cravings are trends and others are classics.  Some will make it into my wardrobe, some are already there and some are just a dream.  I'm sure my list will continue to grow as I scourer some of my favorite blogs and help clients with their spring wardrobes (because don't you find the best stuff when you're shopping for someone else??).   Here are some of my spring favorites ~

What are you craving so far this season? XO Elizabeth

Leopard is Always a Good Idea

Can you believe Christmas is less than ten days away?  I have just started my Christmas shopping - like yesterday - so between the day job, blog, Stella & Dot and getting ready for the quickly approaching holiday I'm running crazy!  What do you wear when you're running from one thing to the next?  I reach for comfy leggings (leather or pointe knit are my favorites), a tunic top (leopard is always a good idea, it makes any outfit chic), a stylish cardi (this one is from The Loft Boutique and I'm loving the fringe and fabulous wine color!), flat boots and a cross body bag that's easy to sling on and go!

Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration

It's a few days before Thanksgiving and it's time for me to decide what I'm wearing for our holiday festivities.  We go to my in-laws for the day ~ which doesn't just involve dinner but also the annual family Christmas picture.  Last year I wore leather leggings (my uniform) with a sequin sweater (you can see last year's look here) and this year I'm thinking sequins again ~ but in pants.  What is it about the holidays that makes me want to wear sequins?  They are just so fun and festive and are so easy to dress up or down.  They look just as good with a cashmere sweater as they do with denim.  For Thursday I'm thinking a comfy sweater with sequin bottoms, statement shoes and of course, fabulous jewelry!

The first outfit is more has more of a casual vibe and is very close to what I wore last year except the sequins were on top and not on bottom!
Black Tunic Sweater: blackfive.com {Identical from Target}
Black Sequin Leggings: Lauren by Ralph Lauren {so perfect to wear all through the holidays and beyond!}
Leopard Booties: vestiairecollective.com {these perfect booties are on my Christmas wish list!}
Red Cross-Body Bag: C. Wonder
Buffalo Plaid Infinity Scarf: Steve Madden/Nordstrom
Hematite and Gold Studs: Stella & Dot
Arm Party: Inspiration BangleEden BangleRenegade Cluster Bracelet

The second outfit is my dream Thanksgiving/holiday outfit.  It's the perfect casual/comfy/dressy mix and oh, so me!  I have all of the pieces except the silver sequin joggers and if I can get my hands on them this is what I'll be wearing for sure!
Ivory Cashmere Sweater: Athleta
Silver Sequin Cropped Joggers: Calypso St. Barth {Similar here}
Snakeskin Pumps: Manolo Blahnik
Clutch: Louis Vuitton
Earrings: Casablanca Chandeliers {These earrings can be worn three different ways! Perfect for the holidays!}
Bracelet: Stella & Dot
Necklace: Demi Layering Necklace in Silver

What are your plans for this Thursday?  Have you picked out your holiday outfit yet?  I hope today's post gave you a little inspiration!

Accessory Overload?

I wore a very simple outfit today - ivory top, red skinny pants and nude heels - so I piled on lots of accessories to spice it up and make it more exciting. I really love accessories and believe the right ones can make an outfit. Accessories don't have to cost a fortune. You can actually find super cute ones on the cheap (that don't look cheap!) I love to mix my higher priced items with my budget friendly ones, it makes them more interesting! As far as accessory overload? I believe in balance. A big statement necklace with smaller earrings or a pile of bracelets with a smaller ring. Today I did both the statement necklace and the bracelet stack and I really liked it!

Thanks for reading! Have a savvy and stylish end to your week!
