Christmas to New Year's

I recently wore this outfit to my company Christmas party.  The event was held in a large art studio here in Athens and it was quite cold so we were encouraged to dress warmly.  Of course being the "dress for the occasion girl" that I am and it being a Christmas party sparkle and shine were a must for me!  I found this sequin bomber jacket on super sale and HAD to have it!  It was a great way to stay warm at the party but also fit the "it's the holiday's so dress up" bill too.  I'm planning on wearing it again over New Year's when The Hubs and I take our annual New Year's getaway trip.  The jacket goes really well with leather pants, like I'm wearing here, but will be equally cute over a LBD or with jeans.  Isn't it great when you love something, it's on sale, you buy it, and you realize it can be worn for several occasions?  I know I sure do!

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Sequin Bomber Jacket: Charlotte Russe (It's on sale for $20!!)
Shimmer Tank: Entourage Clothing
Faux Leather Pants: Target (These are actually leggings but I sized up so they would fit like pants. These are under $20!)
Crossbody Bag: H&M (sold out) | Identical
Leopard Pumps: Nine West (last year) | Similar
Lippie: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo (This color looks great on everyone!)
Double Ring: Kendra Scott

Me and my gorgeous "side kick", model and assistant, Maggie, at our company Christmas party at Stan Mullins Art Studio. Yes, she's about eight inches taller than me (and a whole lot younger!)

Sorry about the quality of these pictures.  I planed to get some better shots at the event but the lighting at the studio was not picture friendly and I had to go with the pictures The Hubs shot of me before I left the house for the evening.   I almost didn't post this outfit but I had SO MANY questions about my jacket after putting this picture of Maggie and I on Instagram I decided to go ahead and blog away! ;-)

Also, I may or may not get another blog post in this week.  I've been working at our flagship store here in Athens all week, which means I'm exhausted in the evenings, my kids are home from college, which means we are doing family stuff in the evenings, and I'm trying to wrap up the little last minute details of Christmas before the busy holiday weekend!  Are you ready?

Simply Simple

Do you ever have those days where you are in a hurry to get out the door but are drawing a complete blank on what to wear?  I've felt this way a lot lately (especially since most of my days start at 4:15am!) so I have pulled together a few "simply simple", wear just about anywhere, I can put it on in five minutes and still look cute outfits that I keep in the front of my closet so I can just grab and go on those days.  Tone on tone or one color outfits are usually fail proof and look instantly chic.  Audrey Hepburn was a master of the one color outfit.  Her simply simple style of cropped skinny pants, a sweater, chic flats and of course, pearls, is classically timeless and a look I find myself gravitating towards in my own wardrobe and wearing on repeat.  I love other one color outfits like gray with gray or white with white but I tend to gravitate towards black with black (I guess it's the Audrey in me!).

What I'm Wearing ~
Sweater: Gap (30% off online with code HAPPY)
Jeans: Old Navy (25% off with code ONSAVENOW) I sized up two sizes to give them a skinny-boyfriend look.
Skimmers: Charlotte Russe (old) ~ Identical
Clutch: Urban Expressions c/o Encore Athens ~ Similar
Necklace: Stella & Dot (It can be worn several ways!)
Bracelet: Stella & Dot (On SALE!!)
Earrings: Stella & Dot (So classic!!)

What are your simply simple go-to outfits?

What I'd Wear If I Was Actually Going Out For Valentine's

Today's outfit is just what the title says, what I'd wear if I was actually going out for Valentine's.   A feminine tulle skirt, red cardi tied at the waist, pink t-shirt, little heart necklaces, super fun Gaga-ish Mary Jane platforms and of course red lips! But I'm not going out, I'll be at home waiting for the Hubs to get home from his business trip, probably wearing leggings and an oversize sweater, haha!

I'm obsessed with tulle.  To me it's the most girly, feminine thing you can wear.  I currently own two tulle skirts with another (a pink one) on the way.  I really think tulle can be versatile depending on the way you style it.  When I first bought this skirt I did a post on a few different ways to style a tulle skirt ~ dressed down, edgy and feminine and you can see it here if you need some inspiration.  I'm looking forward to coming up with a few new ways to style my tulle trio come spring!

What do you think about the tulle trend?
