When Shorts Weather and Sweater Weather Collide

We're at that point here in Georgia where shorts and sweaters are equally appropriate on any given day.  The mornings are cool and the afternoons are warm, which is typical early fall in the South!  I'm so ready for all day sweater weather but until then I'll combine fall clothes (like booties and a vest) with summer clothes (like denim shorts and a tank) so I don't suffer heatstroke by 1:00pm but still get my fall fashion fix!

Y'all, yesterday was National Handbag Day!  If you have been a reader of my blog for long you know how much I love handbags!!  I guess you could call me a "handbag collector".  Clutches, satchels, shoulder bags, cross body bags, backpacks... I love them all!  I've linked a few of my recent favorites incase you want to add to a bag or two to your handbag collection!

Summer Sweater

I love a summer sweater, especially one that takes you from summer into fall and beyond by adding a layer or two.  I recently made a trip to Anthropologie (yes, a trip, because the closest one is sadly over an hour away!) and instantly fell in love with this cowl pullover.  I knew it would be perfect for our upcoming beach trip but could also see it getting a lot of wear once the temps get cooler and the layering begins.  It's a great neutral too so pairing it with other things besides denim will be so easy!

Yo-yo Weather Style

The weather here has been doing what the weather always does here this time of the year ~ yo-yo's from cold to warm and back again!  It's warm again this week with the promise (yes, it's a promise to a cold weather loving girl like me) of cooler temps coming soon.  So what does someone wear for this yo-yo weather we've been experiencing?  Favorite denim shorts and a Chanel inspired jacket, of course!  Layers are your best bet for this time of the year ~ you can put them on and take them off as needed.  And pairing a dressy jacket and pumps with distressed denim shorts is fun and unexpected!

From the Archives ~ Transition

Fall happened here in Georgia over the weekend.  Like real fall.  Very cool (even cold on Saturday) temps and the leaves on the trees started to change.  I lived in boots, jeans and flannel!  It's heaven for me.  I love layering, boots, scarves, sweaters, jeans, jackets...and the fall colors make me so happy!  Today I realized that I had a few "saved up" outfits in the blog archives from summer to fall transition that I hadn't posted yet and I decided to go ahead and post them before my full-on fall outfit posts start!

Kimonos are a great way to layer during the transition months with out being too hot!
