Confessions and Chevron Stripes

Confession #1... These pictures were taken back in the early spring but never made it to the blog.  They were snapped by my friend Jennifer (of JennySue Makeup) when we were at Lenox Square for one of our Macy's Advisory Board meetings.  When she sent them to me I saved them to my phone instead of my computer which means they got buried in the over 1000 pictures currently on my phone so...

Confession #2... This shirt is one of my favorites and it's really old.  Like I've had it for years.  I bought it one summer at a little boutique in Seaside Florida when we were there on vacation and I've loved it ever since.  What's not to love about bold chevron stripes and cold shoulder detail?

When Shorts Weather and Sweater Weather Collide

We're at that point here in Georgia where shorts and sweaters are equally appropriate on any given day.  The mornings are cool and the afternoons are warm, which is typical early fall in the South!  I'm so ready for all day sweater weather but until then I'll combine fall clothes (like booties and a vest) with summer clothes (like denim shorts and a tank) so I don't suffer heatstroke by 1:00pm but still get my fall fashion fix!

Y'all, yesterday was National Handbag Day!  If you have been a reader of my blog for long you know how much I love handbags!!  I guess you could call me a "handbag collector".  Clutches, satchels, shoulder bags, cross body bags, backpacks... I love them all!  I've linked a few of my recent favorites incase you want to add to a bag or two to your handbag collection!

Fourth Style

I have been trying for two days now to take pictures wearing my top two outfit choices for this coming 4th of July and every time I have someone available to snap my pictures it's raining!!  So I went for plan B ~ I styled the outfits and shot them inside ~ on the floor.  A blogger's gotta do what a blogger's gotta do...

If its' hot this Saturday ~ which I am pretty darn sure it will be because I live in Georgia and it's stinkin' hot here all summer ~ this will be my OOTD (outfit of the day).  This adorable tank was sent to me by Tipsy Elves a few weeks ago and I've been really looking forward to wearing it for our family Fourth festivities!  It's super soft and I love a tank with a v-neck!  These denim cutoffs are from a few years back and I seem to pull them out every Independence Day ~ the subtle star print is spot-on for the holiday!  I've found a few cute pair with flag pocket detail HERE and HERE.  Of course a red cross-body bag and red t-strap sandals area must.  I've found a current red Coach cross-body HERE (mine is vintage) and just about identical sandals HERE.  Jewelry is all Stella & Dot ~ Bianca Lariat, Alexia Necklace, Renegade Cluster Bracelet, Arrow Bracelet, and Pave Arrow Cuff.

If it cools off in time for the baseball game and fireworks we're attending in the evening then this will be my OOTN (outfit of the night).  This American Flag long sleeve shirt was also gifted to me by the folks at Tipsy Elves.  I'm planning on bringing it with me on our vacation to the beach too because it will be perfect for cooler breezy beach nights!  These white slightly distressed skinny jeans are my summer go-to's.  I actually chopped them off at the bottom to give them more of a cropped/distressed look.  These studded denim gladiators are from last year and are sold out but I found a similar pair HERE.  The necklace is the Zuni Layering Necklace from Stella & Dot, and the bracelets are Stella & Dot as well ~ Remi Wrap, Enlighten Bracelet and the sold out Pyramid Cuff.

Have I mentioned that I love the 4th of July?!?!  Family (my entire family will be here!!), fitness (I'm running the Peachtree Road Race - which is the largest 10k in the world!), food, fun, fireworks, baseball and, of course, cute fashion ~ what's not to love?!?  What are you doing for the holiday? Distressed

I love distressed jeans and the more distressed the better.  The Hubs hates my distressed jeans and offers to buy me new hole-free jeans every time I wear them.  But I'm a trend-loving fashion stylist and he's a burgundy, navy and khaki wearing businessman.  I think I'll keep wearing my distressed denim, thanks! ;-)

Lace, Denim and Isaac Mizrahi New York

 One of the many awesome things about my job as a stylist/personal shopper is getting to work with and develop relationships with great shops and brands!  Last Thursday I co-hosted a girls day out event for Star 94 Atlanta at the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta and got to work once again with one of my all time favorite shops, Isaac Mizrahi New York.  There are only two Isaac stores in all of the US and we are so very lucky to have one of them right here in Georgia (the other is in the Hamptons)!  The day before the event I headed to Isaac to style one of two outfits I would be showing at Thursday's event.  I like to dress chic but comfortable for styling because the day usually involves wrangling a manikin or two!  These denim boyfriend shorts have become this summer's go-to's.  I literally wear them almost every day and since I bought them for all of $8.00 at Plato's Closet that makes cost per wear less than a penny! Whoot!

Summer Staples

Each season there are certain items in my closet that I reach for time and time again.  This spring/summer my deconstructed boyfriend shorts, oversized, lightweight summer sweaters and comfy wedges have been on constant rotation.  Oh, and my Tory Burch straw tote that I have carried to death and my Stella and Dot Gitane Tassel Necklace that I have barely taken off since I bought it.  For some reason this outfit combo makes me feel like Cameron Diaz, only I'm a lot shorter...and older...and not blond...but a girl can dream, right?!

Last Night at the Beach

On the last night of our vacation we decided to go out to the beach in the evening and get some pictures of the kids (the "cousins" as we call them).  We were also got a few pictures of our little family and I was able to get a few impromptu pics for the blog.

Please excuse the squinty eyes!  You would think that late in the day I wouldn't need sunglasses but my eyes are so sensitive to the light!

Life's a Beach

This week we are on our annual Herrin Family Vacation at the beach. We are on an island with no cell service and very limited wi-fi. That's not a bad thing except when one is addicted to Instagram and was planning a week of blog posts!  My iPad and phone are picking up the wi-fi but my computer won't connect so it looks like this week's posts with be a little rough done on an iPad with iPhone pictures!  I'm sorry about that!!  My posts will also be short and sweet this week too because I want to spend as much time as possible with my family and not sitting on my iPad working.

I so love the beach and I look forward to this trip all year long!  One of the things I love about the beach is the laid back relaxed feeling I get the minute I arrive which carries over into my outfit choices.  Denim cutoffs, a roomy summer t/sweater and bare feet are this week's dress code (when I'm not in a bikini)!
