Fall Wardrobe Refresh

One of the best ways to update your look for fall without spending a lot of money is by adding a few new accessories to your wardrobe.  I'm an accessories loving girl ~ bags, shoes, scarves, hats, jackets, vests and of course, jewelry, are my jam and the first things I gravitate to when I'm craving a wardrobe refresh!  I recently stopped by Versona to check out their new fall line and let me tell you, I had a hard time choosing what to bring home with me!  So.Much.Good.Stuff!!  Name an accessory, Versona has it!  If you follow me on Snapchat (if you don't, you should!) you saw my Versona trip in realtime AND you were able to help me choose what to get this shopping trip and what needs to be on my "to buy REALLY soon" list!

Versona doesn't just sell accessories, it's a great place for basics and clothes as well!  How about that metallic moto jacket?!?!

Table after table and rack after rack of accessory goodness!

I'm a sucker for a cute graphic tee, fabulous bag and the perfect desk accessory!

I've been on the hunt for an affordable gold tassel necklace ever since I fell in love with this one a while ago so I was thrilled when I came across this double tassel beauty at Versona!  I couldn't find it online to link it but they have it in store.  (My sweater is from Entourage Clothing and it just went on sale for $32!)

It's pretty perfect, right?  It comes in silver as well!

Y'all, next to diamonds turquoise is my favorite stone!  I wear a turquoise ring every single day no matter what else I'm wearing.  It just makes me happy!  (Dress and Cardigan are both from Entourage Clothing and booties are from Amazon.)

Seriously, how great is this necklace?!

I bought this necklace in bright yellow at the beginning of the summer and I've worn it so much (and gotten so many complements on it) I regretted not buying it in gray as well, so I was really excited that they had one left on my most recent Versona visit. Oh, and it was on the clearance table!! Win, Win!

Don't you just love a fabulous statement earring?

The latest additions to my accessories wardrobe.

Have you started your fall wardrobe refresh?  Tell me what you've added, or what you want to add to take you into the new season with style!

I was gifted the earrings and a gift card by Versona.  Review and opinions are my own.

Kimono and Graphic Tank

I was going through picture files on my computer and came across these from mid-summer that never made it to the blog.  They didn't get posted not because I didn't like them but because they were taken back when I was shooting several outfits a week and they got lost in the shuffle.  I feel like this outfit is not super summery and would still work for this season transition time of the year.  To change it up for fall I'd trade out the wedges for booties and the kimono for a leather bomber jacket.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Kimono: Entourage Clothing (the one I'm wearing is sold out but I have this one too and love it!)
Graphic Tank: Entourage Clothing (This one is one of my new favorites!)
Dark-wash Skinny Jeans: American Eagle (Similar)
Clutch: Entourage Clothing (Similar)
Aviators: Stella & Dot (They have been my go-to's all summer long!)
Necklace: Entourage Clothing

Breaking the Rules

Sometimes rules are made to be broken, especially fashion rules.  Honestly, fashion rules are the most fun to break because that's one of the best ways to show your individual style (hello pattern mixing and leopard and camo as neutrals!).  I've not honored the "don't wear white after Labor Day" rule in quite some time. Would I wear a white linen sundress, a pair of super strappy white sandals or carry a white straw bag after Labor Day?  Probably not.  Would I wear white jeans, a white sweater or white tennis shoes? Yep! Absolutely! I actually have this pair of white jeansthis lace-up sweater and these kicks as part of my fall shopping list.  The espadrilles I'm wearing in today's post have become go-to's and I'm not ready to retire them for the fall yet and the tank is a great basic that works well alone or layered under a kimono, like I did here, or under a vest, cardigan or denim jacket as the temps drop.

~ What I'm Wearing ~
Floral Kimono: Forever 21 (old) | Similar
White Tank: Nordstrom (Comes in several colors)
Espadrilles: Old Navy
Watch: Jord | Identical
Bowler Bag: Vera Bradley
Jeans: Nordstrom
Aviators: Stella & Dot
Beaded Tassel Necklace: Stella & Dot (On sale for under $45!)
Leather Mixed Metal Wrap Bracelet: Stella & Dot

Do you wear white after Labor Day?  What other fashion rules do you break?  Side note, I mentioned my fall shopping list earlier in this post and I spent some time this long holiday weekend updating my "shop" page with things I'm loving for the season.  Make sure to check it out here!

Wardrobe Staple ~ Denim Romper

Some things never go out of style ~ like a good denim romper or jumpsuit.  I'm such a fan of this versatile piece that I've added it to the list of wardrobe staples I give my personal styling clients.  I've had this denim romper in my closet for about six years (possibly more) and it's still on heavy rotation.  It's easy to dress down, with trendy kicks and a cute backpack, but my favorite way to wear it is dressed up with strappy heels and a leopard belt like I'm wearing here.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Denim Romper: New York & Co (old) | Similar
Turquoise Bib Necklace: Stella & Dot (retired) | Love this one from Kendra Scott
Leopard Print Belt: Michael Kors (old) | Identical
Turquoise Tote: The Loft Boutique (old) | Similar
Strappy Block Heeled Sandals: Nordstrom
Gold Aviators: Stella & Dot

Another great thing about the denim romper is can take you from season to season.  I've worn mine three out of four seasons over the years.  Since this one has been such a great closet staple I'm considering adding this jumpsuit to my wardrobe.  I can just picture it with booties and a cargo vest for fall!

Summer Style ~ Rompin Around Apalachicola

I've always been a big fan of a girl's day out ~ especially when it involves shopping and lunching with my favorite ladies while on vacation!  We always take a day while on our annual beach trip to spend time, just us girls, shopping the local Apalachicola boutiques like La Robe and Deep Southern and eating yummy fish tacos at Tamara's Cafe.  Keeping cool (well, as cool as you can when it's over 100 degrees out), looking cute (again, as cute as you can when it's over 100 degrees out) and staying comfortable (same ;-)) are important on GDO and this ivory romper and gold gladiators were the perfect OOTD.  Plus, it is easy to get in and out of, which is key when you are trying on all those cute clothes at the boutiques!

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Ivory Tiered Romper: Entourage Clothing (The one I'm wearing is sold out but here's a similar one)
Bralette: Entourage Clothing
Gladiators: Similar
Tassel Earrings: Stella & Dot
Gold Aviators: Stella & Dot

So now that vacation is over and done with and (as I've mentioned before) fall clothes are hitting my styling room by the box full, I'm ready to break out the flannel and boots!  But fall fashion transition happens slowly in the South.  Adding some fall to your wardrobe here means wearing fall colors, booties and a light layer or two until the temps turn cooler...which will probably be another two months (or more).  Another great way to add some fall to your look when it's still hot out is by trading in your summer bag for one in a fall hue, like brown, mustard or oxblood.  I've got my eye on this beauty to start carrying in September!

Camo ~ Another Neutral ~ Another Staple

I'm as girly of a girl as you can get but I love camo!  When camo became a hot trend a few years ago I jumped on it hard ~ from tops to jeans and joggers ~ my camo collection is pretty extensive!  I'm glad it's a trend that stuck around.  I'm also glad that camo, like leopard, is considered a neutral and pairs well with most colors, especially brights.  Everyone knows that a denim vest is a closet staple (and if this fact is new to you stop what you are doing, click on the link and get one now!) but I think a camo vest should be as well.  It's a great, versatile completer piece that can be worn year round!

Excuse the face.  I was focusing hard on crossing the street, coffee in hand! ha!

 ~ What I'm Wearing ~

Orange/Coral Maxi: Old Navy (last year) | Current season here (I love the hem!!)
Camo Vest: Scored at a "bloggers' closet" sale | Identical
Tan Leather Tote: Another closet staple and I've had this one for years! | LOVE this one and the price is amazing!
Wedges: I've had these for years too! | This fab pair is at the TOP of my summer wish list and they just went on sale!
Fringe Necklace: Stella & Dot
Sunnies: Quay Australia

Sorry that this post is a day late!  My weekend was INSANE (all good, lot's of family time, but so very busy celebrating my son's birthday and father's day) and every Monday after work I meet my blogger friend, Hannah, to shoot pics for the coming week, so I'm a bit behind!  Better late than never, right?
