Thanksgiving or Gameday Style?

There is so much going on this week I was a little torn about what to do a blog post on ~ a Thanksgiving Day outfit, Gilmore Girls Day outfit or a Gameday outfit.  (Oh, you didn't know Gilmore Girls Day is a thing? Well it sure is around here ~ and us Herrin girls will be celebrating in style!  It sure is good to be a girl!  Blog post on that coming next week!!)  For today's post I decided on the Gameday outfit but if you need some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration check out this post (it's a good one!!).

Saturday The Hubs and I will be heading to the Georgia/Georgia Tech game with two of our favorite people for a day of food (tailgating is a must), family, fun and of course football!  I'm really into the comfy tunic, leggings, sneakers combo and that's most likely what I'll be wearing this Saturday.  I may toss on a puffer vest if it's cold enough (this houndstooth vest would be so cute with the striped tunic I'm wearing!) but this outfit has pretty much become my Gameday standard.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Red & Black Striped Tunic: Entourage (last year) | Similar
Leggings: Target
Sneakers: Old Navy (The pair I'm wearing is sold out but I found an identical pair here.)
Necklace: Stella & Dot (It can be worn different lengths and has become a favorite!)
Bangles: SoLayne Designs c/o (black here and red here)
Beaded Lava Bracelets: SoLayne Designs c/o
Crossbody Bag: H&M (sold out) | Love this one!

I'm looking forward to a full and fun week/weekend ~ Thanksgiving Day with the family, Gilmore Girls Day with my girls and the UGA game with The Hubs.  What are you all up to?  Are you celebrating the holiday with family and friends or having a quiet day at home?  Remember, if you are still stumped about what to wear for Turkey Day here are several looks I know you will love!

Cardi's and Camo

Y'all, it's finally sweater weather in Georgia!  For real!  Like you can wear a sweater in the morning when you leave the house, still have it on when you get home at night and not have suffered heat stroke during the day!  Insert praise hands from this fall weather loving girl!  Better late than never, right?  I bought this cardi well over a month ago and I've been patiently waiting 😏  to wear it ever since.  Is there anything more perfect than a thick, cozy cardi with a hood AND pockets?!?  I don't think so!  I love this one so much I also added this one to my fall/winter wardrobe.

Enough about my cozy cardi love affair and let's address the elephant in the room ~ or the leopard on my feet paired with camo jeans.  I'm not some crazy pattern blind lady, promise!  Both leopard and camo are treated as neutrals in the fashion world which means you can wear both prints with anything you would wear neutrals with.  AND pairing leopard with camo (or with stripes or florals) actually makes a chic fashion statement!  It may not be for everyone but it sure is one of my favorite combos.

~ What I'm Wearing ~

Hoodie Cardigan: Entourage Clothing
Henley Tee With Lace Detail: Similar
Camo Jeans: Similar | Loving these leopard joggers too!
Leopard Booties: Amazon | They are super comfy!
Sunburst Necklace: Entourage Clothing
Aviators: Vera Bradley c/o | Favorite pair of sunnies I've ever owned!
Olive Crossbody Bag: Urban Expressions c/o | This bag is the perfect size ~ not too big and not too small
Hoop Earrings: Stella & Dot

Is it finally sweater weather where you are?  How do you feel about pairing camo and leopard?  Yay or nay?

Election Day Style

Am I the only person in America who is waiting for actual Election Day to vote?  This whole "early voting" thing has really thrown me off!  It seems like just about everyone I know, besides The Hubs and two out of four of our kids, has already voted and are sporting their "I've Voted" stickers!  Election Day has always been an important day to me.  I grew up with a dad who shared his love of history, politics and American patriotism with me and my siblings, which was passed down from his dad.  I also learned at an early age that voting is a privilege and not something to be taken for granted.  So this afternoon I'll be heading to the polls to cast my vote and when I do I'll be sporting red, white and blue because there's nothing more patriotic than voting, right?

Dark-Wash, Flare jeans: Nordstrom || Flag Scarf: Swell || Navy Tote: Tory Burch || Earrings: Kendra Scott || Tan Booties: Similar || Red Turtleneck Sweater: Similar

Navy Leggings: Nordstrom || Crossbody Bag: Similar || Superstar Sneakers: Adidas || Navy Striped Tee: Topshop || Red Hoodie: Romwe || Denim Vest: Blank NYC || American Flag Earrings: JCPenny

Did you opt for early voting or are you waiting until November 8th like I am?  And it doesn't really matter what you wear to vote it just matters that you vote!

My Fall Weekend Uniform

Happy November! My favorite month of the year!! I titled this post "My Fall Weekend Uniform" but to be honest this is pretty much " My Fall Everyday Uniform"!  Lucky for me I work where leggings, camo and cute kicks are welcome and I love it!  Don't get me wrong,  I have denim days and dress days but my favorite days are legging-tunic-comfy kicks days!

Every piece that I'm wearing is on constant repeat.  I live in these Spanx Moto Leggings and when I'm not wearing them I'm wearing this faux leather pair.  Both are fabulous, slimming, comfy and a must-have for every girl!  (This pair and this pair are on my birthday wish list because you can't have too many!)  Tunic tops cover a multitude of sins and make leggings acceptable to wear as pants.  You gotta cover that bootie, ladies!  Now the jacket... this camo cutie can be worn as a shirt or a jacket, is totally on trend and makes an otherwise basic outfit pop!  I sized up so it goes easily over other shirts.  Do you love comfy, chic kicks like I do?  Then these are for you too!  I've been carrying this gorgeous backpack every day this season but I decided to switch to a crossbody to change things up a bit.  This one is the perfect size ~ not too big and not too small ~ and the olive green color is gorgeous!

Have you adopted a uniform yet this season?  If so, tell me about yours!

Christmas Eve is a week away, y'all ~ and I still have SO much to do!!  We did finally get our tree up this past Sunday evening and I just started Christmas shopping on Tuesday but I took a few minutes and pulled together some easy outfits to wear for our family Christmas celebrations so getting dressed is one less thing for me to stress about.  We celebrate my family's Christmas (the Fischer's) on Christmas Eve, our own little family's Christmas (the Herrin III's) on Christmas morning and the Hubs' family's Christmas (the Herrin Jr's) on Christmas Day.  All of our celebrations are casual and relaxed, just the way I like it!  To get to be with all the people I love the most over two days is priceless and something I look forward to all year long.  Don't know what you are wearing for your Christmas get-together's?  Here are a few casual Christmas outfit ideas...

Thanksgiving Day Style and An Exciting Announcement

Hey Friends!!  I sure have missed you all and this little blog of mine.  The past few weeks have been so crazy with great stuff like birthdays, family events and A NEW JOB (I'm SO excited) and not so great stuff like migraines and being too exhausted from the old job to think straight but I'm happy to be back in time to share some easy outfit ideas that are perfect for Thanksgiving or for fall/winter in general.

If you know me you know how much I LOVE (faux) leather leggings.  I have several pair that are on constant repeat!!  (I mean constant!)  If you don't own at least one pair you need to get some now!  Gone of the days of leather being "biker chick" ~ it's now just chic!!  This look is an easy two pieces plus a few fun accessories to add some personality.
Leggings: Nordstrom (They are under $50!)
Oversized Sweater: Tory Burch (I'm obsessed)
Tassel Necklace: Shopbop (I love all the tassels!)
Leopard Booties: Metcalf (You need some leopard booties)
Buffalo Plaid Crossbody Bag: Vera Bradley (Vera's my current favorite place for great bags)
Wrap Bracelet: Stella & Dot (I wear mine all the time)

Green is my favorite color (well, tiffany blue too) and this green sweater is the perfect addition to any fall/winter wardrobe!  I'm going to be wearing this green boyfriend cardigan for our family Thanksgiving (with a tank underneath, of course!)
Sweater: Target (So cozy!)
Dark Wash Skinny Jeans: Nordstrom (Everyone needs dark wash skinny jeans)
Blanket Scarf: Etsy (similar)
Suede Booties with Fringe: Nordstrom
Bracelet Trio: Stella & Dot (On sale until Sunday!)

A sweater dress and boots is such an easy, chic combo for just about any fall/winter occasion.  Toss on a scarf or a fab necklace, grab a cute bag and you are good to go!
Sweater Dress: Nordstrom (I usually size up one size in sweater dresses so they fit loose and not snug)
Suede Boots: Romwe (Under $50!)
Reversible Tote: Target
Leopard Scarf: Splurge / Save

Ponchos are THE hot trend right now!  There are so many great, affordable options out there.  I was in poncho heaven at Target the other day (I may or may not have brought home two).  Ponchos are great as outerwear but they can also replace a cardigan or jacket.
Poncho with Faux Fur Collar: Target
Girlfriend Jeans: Gap
Orange Sweater: The Outnet
Tassel Necklace: Stella & Dot (On sale until Sunday!)
Mustard Crossbody Bag: Centuary21
Taupe Booties: Nordstrom

So if you haven't decided on what to wear for your Thanksgiving Day celebration I hope I was able to give you some inspiration!

Now about my new job...
Two weeks ago I was contacted by the corporate office of one of my favorite boutiques to see if I'd be interested in working for them as their corporate stylist (dream come true).  After two interviews in a weeks' time I was offered the position and of course, I eagerly accepted!  Beginning the first week of December I will start my new career as Entourage Clothing and Gifts Corporate/Lead Stylist! Entourage currently has seven boutiques around the southeast (with plans for more) and a fabulous website (which, along with their social media, is one of the many things I'll be styling for!)  I'd love for you to follow along on InstagramFacebookTwitter and Pinterest!  And of course, I'll keep you posted of in-store styling events as they happen and look-books as they launch!!

I hope you all have a fabulous, fun family and food filled Thanksgiving!!

2014 In Review

Happy New Year Again!!

It's January 7th and I'm just getting the chance to do my first post of 2015!  Y'all, one of these days life will get a little less crazy for me, right?  I'm really hoping that at the end of this school year I'll be able to give up the day job and focus on the blog, Stella & Dot and styling but until then hang with me!  I promise to post as much as I can...

Some great changes came for the blog this past year and the best of them all was working with my fabulous photographer, Diana!!  No more iPhone pictures for this girls' blog! ha!  Seriously, I never realized how awesome having a professional photographer with a real camera taking my pictures could be!  I'm so thankful to my blogger buds, Peaches In A PodFashionably Lo and My Style Vita  encouraging me (pushing me really) to get a photographer!  Another big change this year was my hair!!  Sometimes I miss my long locks but most of the time I'm happy with my decision and went even shorter in November.  To recap 2014 I went though the blog and picked my favorite outfit from each month of the year, January through December, with an extra thrown in!

March (these pics were actually taken in February but I didn't post them until March)

April

May (debuting my new, shorter hair!)

July

The picture that convinced me to get a real photographer!  My blogger friends, Whitney and Blaire of  Peaches In A Pod, took this picture (and a whole series of others) with a real camera to show me how much better my blog pictures would be with a camera and photographer instead of an iPhone and the Hubs!!  In just a few weeks I started working with Diana!  Thanks, girls!!

Which is your favorite?  I'm looking forward to more fabulous fashion in 2015!

Thank you SO MUCH for reading!!  If you have anything you would like to see here on the blog or  have any style/fashion questions, please leave a comment or shoot me an email!
